Say it ain't so, Joe!
Butter is great, and the savor is fantastic, but you can't have it with every meal, that's all. Pick and choose when you want to use it. I think it's healthier than, say, Crisco. Try to keep it down to a tablespoon a day. And only buy the best!
Whole milk is tough, too. You will save calories if you drink skim, but the taste . . . bleh.
I think it would be better to deny white-bread and peeled potatoes. If you eat nice brown skinned potatoes and lovely whole-grain bread and chewy brown rice, then you will *deserve* to have a nice glass of milk with every meal (-:. And finish it off with some lovely fruit, not something full of processed sugar.
But to each their own. You *can* deny dairy all together. Eat fish with bones in (ie: canned salmon and sardines) and lots of seaweed, and you should be covered.

You will become a slim reflection of the man you once were. Your life will be empty and without purpose. You will have no real reason to live but may find satisfaction in making fun of those who sill eat butter.
