Since it only snows during cold months you have more opportunity to catch fish when it isn't snowing. Fishing in the rain is good as it blocks light penetration on water making fish less spooked. It is usually better to fish ahead of a storm than during it of course because of high winds, flash floods and lightning especially while fishing from a boat.

Hmmm,

I live in Wisconsin and most of my fishing is done "Up North". I have ice-fished and found ice-fishing usually to be slower than summer fishing. They say the best ice fishing is first & last ice, but of course this can risky. Hehehe, my bro & I went skiing one April and a crew was out on the lake ice-fishing; when we came back the crew was gone and there was open water where they were fishing.

In the late fall musky fisherman are out in force but they are not trying to catch many musky they are trying to catch one BIG musky. The musky start feeding heavily in the fall especially in those lakes with whitefish/cisco populations since the whitefish/cisco spawn in the fall.

I think the same conditions that lead fish to be snappier prior & during rain hold during snowfalls. So my guess is they would be as active in both sets of conditions.

Hmm... to go with the what's that answer from the Texan or....

It's always easier for me to catch fish in rain rather than snow, considering, of course, that I'm in Florida, and if I waited for it to snow, I wouldn't be fishing any time in the near future.
