He said "Before Abraham existed, I Am."
(John 8:58)
"I Am" is the exact same phrase in the Greek for the sacred name of God disclosed by God to Moses in Exodus 3:14-15.
He said "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, though he were dead, yet he shall live; and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die." (John 11:25,26)
He said "I am the Son of God" (John 10:36)
He said "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no man comes to the Father except by Me."
(John 14:6)
When He prayed to the Father before His death and resurrection He said:
"And now O Father, glorify Me with Your own self, with the glory which I had with You before the world existed." (John 17:5)
The Prophet Isaiah foretold His coming in this language:
"For a child will be born to us;
a child will be given to us;
and the government shall rest upon His shoulders;
And His name will be called
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Eternal Father,
Prince of Peace..." (Isaiah 9:6)

I could go on, but I hope you are beginning to get the picture.

Some people are so litteral! Saying that he was one with does not make him God it means he is in harmony with God.
Son of God...we are all sons and daughters of God. Besides he was Jewish...the children of God!?It's just nuts!If you know me you know my father means he is a reflection of the spirit so in harmony that to know one is to know the other. These are symbolic not litteral meanings. If you see them as symbolic there are no conflicts with his other statements about how he speakes of God!!!So important!

He never said he was God! Religions poisoned his teachings.
I love the guy, but he was an peaceful activist. LOL!We can be big trouble!His death was about politics. Happens all the time. Humanity has a gift for trouble.

Love you everyone!

He did, as cited below. Keep in mind he also accepted worship from the disciples and, of course did not contradict those who called him God, as any God fearing non-God Jewish man would be morally compelled to do.

John 14:7-10 [7] If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." [8] Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." [9] Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, `Show us the Father'? [10] Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

John 10:30 "I and the Father are one."

John 14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.

John 10:37-38 [37] Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. [38] But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

Matthew 27:43 He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, `I am the Son of God.'"

John 17:11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one.

He used the OT terms like " I am" which refers to God. Yes, He claimed to be God.

Read Matthew 16:13-
Especially from 17
This is where Jesus gave a new name to Simon. Simon's new name is Peter, the rock. He had the right answer. : )

Jesus never professed he was "God". He repeated over and over that he was sent by his Father who is God. His father is the creator of the Heaven and the Earth. Some people may believe he is God because they interpret the scripture where Jesus says "You must come through me to get to the Father (God)." If you accept God's son (Jesus), you then in return accept God.

He did and He is. He is God born in the flesh. See John 1:1 for starters. Sorry for the short answer, but I've already answered this more than once today. :)

He claimed that He and His Father (God) are one. But God is formless whereas the body of Jesus had a form. The question is can you or anyone become one with God. See this page. Yoga means union with God. During the missing years of Jesus, He was in India learning yoga.

...Most definitely, Jesus claimed to be God, observe:
...John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
...John 5:18 For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
...Hebrews 1:8 But of the Son He says, 'Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever...."
...Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
...John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
...John 14:9 He that has seen Me, has seen the Father.
**
...It is not a moot point; it does matter - your salvation depends on it. To say He was not God, is to have a Jesus that is foreign to the Bible.
**
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

He never claimed to be God. If fact, God's word says that while existing in God's form he never even gave consideration to being equal to God, Philippians 2:5,6,7. He is the perfect image of his Father, but Jesus is not God, in fact, Jesus is God's first creation. Colossians 1:15.
