Some people seem to enjoy "casting their pearls before swine" some just thrive on contention and ridicule and some of us peruse these questions looking for those few questions that seem to be asked by someone who is wrestling with a problem or seeking the answer that will help them through a hard time.

These are usually the questions where I try to use my knowledge of Christianity and my life experience to help out.

Should you ever receive an email from me you will find a signature line at the bottom of the page that says "No matter how bad the situation... No matter how dark the future seems... There is ALWAYS someone to turn to!

That signature line was brought about by a teen suicide about five years ago when I was just entering into Chaplaincy Ministry

Is it worthwhile?

If I help one person to overcome their problem...

YES, IT CERTAINLY IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume by "here", you mean on Yahoo! Answers. Yes, it is still worth it. But you must understand the medium you are using to share your faith. This is written media which conveys no emotions and people have defensive walls in place because they are not hearing or seeing a real person behind these letters. They will answer in ways they would never answer in real life. That being said, anything that is shared on this forum needs to be done with tact. It is not alright to completely ignore someone's question. It is alright to answer a question that someone has asked honestly and lead people to think about eternal things. I personally recommend answers that source people to websites that specialize in what they are thinking over. All being said, you just need to be respectful of people. If all you receive is ridicules then it is probably time to rethink your approach. Without knowing more about what you are doing that is all I can say. But it is not a bad thing to share your faith. We all make mistakes along the way which we need to look at honestly and evaluate so that next time we don't make those same mistakes again. Just make sure in whatever you do, that the person is not farther from God after they conversed with you than before.

Yes, because I do get emails where people say they didn't know this or that. I've had two people convert by what I posted here, and that's what they sent me in email. My Imam also knows about this and occasionally is on Answers from time to time. He's complimented it as well and has suggested I get a teaching degree so I can teach at the Islamic school. I turned it down, though, because there are many others I feel are more qualified. You get the nuts and those who are bashers, but look at it this way. You must have touched a nerve of truth within them if they feel the need to waste the time to tell you it does nothing for them.

Yes, it is worthwhile to share your faith because you never know who will be touched by the words of your witness. We don't have to be successful, just obedient and we are told to share the gospel. We may plant the seed or water what has already been planted by someone else but we must always remember that it is God who gives the increase. We just have to tell and let Him do the rest.

...Sure it is worthwhile, to serve our Master and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Obedience to Him is alway right and good.
...Whoever rejects the message is not our problem. And I am not always ridiculed. There are more who are interested than most people think.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31).
...Whosoever will, may come.

YES! It is our duty to share the word of GOD to everyone, not just the receptive ones! Jesus was beaten, mocked, spat on, ridiculed, and crucified for our souls. I can take a little ridiculing!

Yes, it's worthwhile sharing your faith anywhere.

What is it worth if you share your Faith with only believers?

2 Peter 3:3,4 says: "For you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

I expect ridicule.

It is if just one nonbeliever turns to The Lord. We may not know until we get to the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ for our rewards. It helps me to remember that Christ was ridiculed also.

here's some friendly advice, never discuss religion or politics...you have your faith share it with people that appreciate that particular faith..just enjoy it with them, don't involve someone else...if it makes you happy enjoy your faith, you'll be a better human being....by the way i am atheist
