i have the tendency to stutter and forget the word i was thinking of saying. Its not too bad but im trying to improve my communication skills, if any one in a communication major can spend a sec to help me out it will be great

Several uncles and cousins who stuttered found help through The Stuttering Foundation of America and their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer." Check out their web site for loads of helpful information. Many public libraries shelve their books and DVDs, too.

You might consider volunteering to phone people up when an organization you are involved with needs to get donations or something similar. You would quickly get used to talking on the phone, at least, and you could write a script so you wouldn't have to worry about remembering what word comes next.
