I'm wondering if I have some real issues. I met this awesome guy way back in 4th grade, and we went to the same school until 7th grade. I really liked him. The problem is, I'm a junior in high school and I still like him... It's not that there's a shortage of hot/sweet/smart/funny guys at my school or anything, but none of them really measure up to the standards this guy set. Oh, yeah. And I also haven't seen or talked to him in a little over a year. Am I a wreck?

Also, do you think it would be lame to get in touch with him after so long?

No. I know exactly what your talking about! I totally know how you feel. Well i think you should find this guy and go out with him. Your gonna have a really hard time moving on if you dont at least give it a shot. Good luck. I really hope it works out!

Yes, that is a serious problem. Really . . . you need to ask the dude out or get on with your life. When I was in high school, I got hung up on girls like that (sort of . . . never for that long though). It is very unhealthy mentally and socially. Something else you should know . . . you haven't seen this guy in so long, he could be completely different. I know I'm pretty different from the person I was in high school (I'm a junior in college). The differences are positive, but I'm still different. Good luck!

No it does not sound unreasonable.
You have plenty of time for the right person to find you.
You were really blessed to find a good guy early on that set a good example for what type is a good guy for you.
Enjoy dating different guys and the freedom of being young and having fun and already have good standards in mind for the guy that is right for you.
Maybe it will be him later on, but in the meanwhile enjoy meeting and going out with others.

I think your predicament is very natural, and more common than you think.
If I were you I'd call that guy up and try again...and also date other guys for comparison.

i think you need to find someone in that big school of yours that will aprreciate you and is someone that you can relate and talk to instead of dreaming about this fantasy guy.
