OK, I live in florida where it gets very hot. And he leaves his dog, who is a sweet tri colored lab/pitt mix out side in his dirty, and very smelly yard with out food and water. He has a dog house but the dog dosent know how to use it, and the only reason he has it is because animal control told him to buy one, and the dogs eye is very red and swollen, and is weeping, its been like that for months. nd he just recently got this cute little puppy out of the paper for free. And she is infested with fleas, and her tounge is very white, and I think I read somewhere thats because of the fleas? I have tried to help both. The lab mix I fed him secretly till at least till he was fat, and got the man to get a 75 foot runner from tree to tree for him. But I dont know what to do with the eye. I buy big dog biscuitts for my Dobie, and cure/pitt mix and I give the big doggie a couple a day and pet him. But He is extremly lonley. The puppy, I have given her a flea bath, but she has them again.

And calling Animal Control is not an option. I do not want them to go to have the chance of being euthanized!!!

He even has about 5 cats, and only a couple are spayed, but the dogs are intact.

He dosent even take care of his children, he has a very nasty, house. he has never cut his grass, there garbage litterally all over his yard, and there is garbage and *crap* litterally, human and animal all over his house. His kids do not have a mother, and dont even sleep on mattreses. Matter of fact, they dont have any.

No, he does not get watered, and does not eat regularly. and he eats and drinks out of plastic salad bowls.

Oh, and just to warn all of you, im probably going to repost this a couple more times =] Its for the dogs though..

I don't know what answer you are looking for. You are the only one who can take any action in the situation. None of us know where this guy lives or has seen the animals. Whatever happens only you can make the choice.

The way I see it you have a couple of choices.
A) You can call animal services or whatever group is in charge. They will determine what is best from here.
B) You can ignore the situation.
C) You can communicate your concerns to the owner.
D) You can ask your vet to come and see the situation.

The situation you describe warrants choice A. Odds are the dogs will be adopted into loving homes. Other have answered this question and they have said things that are close to what I am saying. You aren't going to get a new answer. You must make your choice.

Good luck and I hope you make the best choice.

*EDIT* I have just browsed through your other postings and I think the best advice here is to talk with your parents. You are just 15 and this is not a choice to make alone.

The only other thing is if children are involved you and whoever knows about or has reason to suspect abuse or neglect of a child is legally required to report it to the proper authorities. Failure to do so is a crime. This has gone far enough you need your parent's help not yahoo answers.

It is your duty as a good person concerned for an innocent animal that cannot protect himself, you must report this immediately to your local SPCA or animal control. These animals are not safe or happy, sometimes it is better to at least give them a chance for a safe, loving home rather than to leave them in the environment that they are currently in. If you worked in the medical field or in education working with children, you would have to sign papers stating that if you suspected child abuse or neglect which is just as bad, you would report the situation immediately. Sure, you might feel a bit of guilt if the child was sad for being taken away from the only environment it had ever known, but you should realize that you were doing what is in the best interest of the child, and that they would be better off for having been taken from a bad situation. Animals and children are so helpless and completely dependent on mature adults to make sometime difficult decisions if it is in their best interest. There is wrong and there is right...do the right thing! What kind of world would we live in if people didn't take care of the weak and helpless.

If something isn't done the puppy will die because flea infestation causes anemia, and the puppy will die from it. You should call animal control to come and get the dogs. They deserve better than this. You are contributing to their suffering by not having them removed from the deplorable situation neither asked to be put in.

Why do you not report the children living in such disgusting living conditions to the child protection agency? You should be worried about them as well. No one here on Yahoo can do anything about what you have seen. Only you can do something. I like animals, but I cannot understand why you are not concerned about the children.

You NOT calling Animal Control is NOT your legal call as to what Animal Control in their Humane capacity needs to do for these dogs.

You should call the Animal Control Office. By not doing so, I have to question your own Humanitarian stances as well as standards. You are by law required and/or encouraged to report such conditions.

You share that you want help, but, you want to control everything. He neglects his kids too you say, what about CPS?

Where is your clear sense of moral clarity? I don't see it here. Your standards don't equate to what should be done right, and it's not your call to say the Dogs should not or you don't want them to be euthanized. What are the Dog's alternatives?

What are the Children's alternatives?

Then you "WARN" everyone that you are going to multi-post?

It sounds like you and your neighbor suffer different degrees of the same level of inhumane responsibility. If you are going to intervene and do the right thing, then jump in with both feet.

I suggest you either call the Humane Society & Animal Control Officer, or adopt the Dogs from him and YOU take care of them. You seem to otherwise care, but, you still are not doing them any justice if you have seen this for months.

The Children is the same deal. If they are children in need of services, then you should do what is right.

Failure to act on the part of someone knowing of these conditions and treatment is not much different that the originator of the negligence.

Though this is an opinion, it's clearly obvious that this man needs help.

Pets and children have rights, and all states have laws varying in degrees as to which matters need to be taken care of.

You also have the right to live in a clean environment, and if their yard and house are in the state you say, it's not a good place to be.

Police, Family Health Services and Animal Control/ASPCA should be called as soon as possible in order to help this family.

If You Don't Want To Call The Proper Authorities I'm Not Sure What You Want... But What I Do Know Is If One Of These Dogs Dies Of One Thing Or Another It Is Going To Be On Your Shoulders, If You Don't Do The Right Thing

Ask your friends if anyone wants a sweet dog who may have some minor medical problems at first. You could even post ads for this dog on the internet. However you want to do it, my suggestion is to find someone who would be willing to take any of these animals in, and then go to your neighbor and tell them that you know someone who is always walking by his yard and admiring his dog (or whatever you want to tell him) and that they would like to adopt the dog from him...and see what he says.

ok, you NEED to call the animal control,HUMANE SOCIETY,or the ASPCA [the ones in bold wll not put any pet down unless it's the only option].These pets need help! Has anyone else noticed them? You are doing your best and not all people are like you,who take care of their pets. You've tried but now you have to get someone else involved. He could get a fine if convicted of animal neglect.Do it for the dogs, call the ASPCA -or- HUMANE SOCIETY.

Call the police, call the ASPCA (or a NO kill shelter in your area...try the phone book) You don't say in what part of FL you live...I live in the panhandle. Here we have PAWS, they will go in, take the animals and find homes..it's NO KILL.
If you have to ,take the dogs yourself and take them to a vet and tell the vet whats going on...get a friend to help you...or get the police to let you do it...(sometimes they're nice that way...depends)....the man should have NO animals...he's a sick, thoughtless, pitiful excuse for a human being...and he should be tied to a tree and sick with fleas...

Do you have a good group of friends who you could ask for help. Go over to his house with five or six other people and volunteer to clean up his yard. Then also tell him you would be willing to help him learn about how to care for his pets since he seems to be having problems with that. Ask him if you can show his children how to take care of the dogs and cats. Maybe he will be ashamed enough to want to take care of them. Maybe he will be thankful for the help. Maybe he'll cuss you out, but you tried.
