ok guys...here's the deal...my "baby" is now 4 yrs old. I have lost 50 of my 70 lbs of weight gain twice, but have put on 15 the first time, lost 10, then gained 20. So my weight has been a perpetual yo-yo. I was on b/c for some issues and that contributed to my last weight gain episode. Doc says my blood pressure is inching up, not to mention I'm going on a trip this fall to the Carribean and want to look good in a swimsuit. I don't subscribe to the idea of fad dieting...so corti-slim, etc...can all take a hike. I've been trying to get more active, do some walking etc for a couple months now...its building my endurance but not necessarily taking off the weight. I drink 4-6 glasses of water a day...eat lots of fruit and veggies, get plenty of protein, but because I have a sit down job i don't get a lot of movement throughout the day. I do lots of toning exercises (crunches, leg lifts) to get my musculature back...I'm shaping up...but dropping down. Any suggestions?

i don't yo-yo diet...for those who have misunderstood the question.
I'm in it to win (lose) it for the long haul...my body just won't cooperate.

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 12 pounds and 17 inches in 9 days and then 28 pounds in about a month. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc…. These toxins enter our bodies and get coated with fat. To remove the extra fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. I lost 30 pounds in 5 weeks and I feel great. My skin has improved as well from the cleansing. You can get more info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. Give it a try and good luck! http://diet4cleansing.com

Continue to eat the veggies and protein (and complex carbs) but increase your water intake to about 8-10 glass/day. Its great that you have started being more active, but since you have a desk job, it is very important that you are consistent and challenging your body. Make sure you get a strength training workout at least 2-3x/week and a cardio workout 3-4x/week, and really challenge your body. You might want to think about getting a personal trainer if you need the motivation, or some new ideas.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

It sounds like your metabolism has suffered, defeniatly since you have an office job. Their are ways to naturally boost your metabolism, one good way is to start taking daily vitamins with an added B6 vitamin supplement. Here are some foods that help also to raise your metabolism, low-fat milk, whole-grain cerals, oatmeal, green tea, coffee, lean beef and chicken, and tuna. There are also foods that are considered fat blasters; Citrus foods like oranges and grapefruit, soy beans, apples, beeries, fresh fruit, asparagus, beets, cabbage, cucumber, carrots, celery, garlic, lettuce, and tomatoes. Everything else you are doing sounds really good, try some of these foods and see how they help you. =)
