OK, I live in florida where it gets very hot. And he leaves his dog, who is a sweet tri colored lab/pitt mix out side in his dirty, and very smelly yard with out food and water. He has a dog house but the dog dosent know how to use it, and the only reason he has it is because animal control told him to buy one, and the dogs eye is very red and swollen, and is weeping, its been like that for months. nd he just recently got this cute little puppy out of the paper for free. And she is infested with fleas, and her tounge is very white, and I think I read somewhere thats because of the fleas? I have tried to help both. The lab mix I fed him secretly till at least till he was fat, and got the man to get a 75 foot runner from tree to tree for him. But I dont know what to do with the eye. I buy big dog biscuitts for my Dobie, and cure/pitt mix and I give the big doggie a couple a day and pet him. But He is extremly lonley. The puppy, I have given her a flea bath, but she has them again.

And calling Animal Control is not an option. I do not want them to go to have the chance of being euthanized!!!

He even has about 5 cats, and only a couple are spayed, but the dogs are intact.

He dosent even take care of his children, he has a very nasty, house. he has never cut his grass, there garbage litterally all over his yard, and there is garbage and *crap* litterally, human and animal all over his house. His kids do not have a mother, and dont even sleep on mattreses. Matter of fact, they dont have any.

No, he does not get watered, and does not eat regularly. and he eats and drinks out of plastic salad bowls.

Oh, and just to warn all of you, im probably going to repost this a couple more times =] Its for the dogs though..

Hi, People like this makes me sick!!!! I had a neighbor that had two dogs that were neglected, tied up outside I fed, watered, bought flea collars and supplied straw in the winter for over a year every day!!! As a matter of fact this rescue mutt that I have, they told me to take! I really didn't want it since I have Dobermans but I took her since I felt sorry for her. Then the ignorant people turned right around & got another dog.I reported them before & eventually they moved out of the neighborhood!!! If I were you I would call the police. Not only for the dogs, but the children as well. If they don't have a bed the father is not providing the necessaties!!! Does the guy have licenses for the dogs? This really pisses me off when animals & children aren't taken care of properly!!!! It is really good of you to try and help these dogs & you will be blessed one day. You could also try calling the Health dept. because of the odor coming from the yard. I know it may sound cruel, but calling the ASPCA will be better than letting these dogs suffer. They would at least be nursed to good health or out of their misery!!!! At least they may tell him NOT to be getting any more dogs!!! You can maybe buy a couple flea collars to put on them. If I were where you are I'd buy them for you. Let me know how things work out!!! Good luck!!!

Unfortuantely, if you do not want to call animal control, there may be little they can do to help.

You could surely get child services invovled for the treatment of the kids.

This is so sad how people can treat their animals. You may want to try contacting animal control and if you want to take one or both of the dogs they might let you keep them, or you could try getting the dogs/cats into a shelter that doesnt kill the animals, once animal control takes them away.

I would at least try and maybe talk to animal control or the SPCA and see what your options are. Also I would think about how much farther you are willing to go for these dogs. Surely you have been amazing and have gone above and beyond helping these poor pets. For fleas, the only thing would be frontline or a flea collar or soemthing, but those are expensive (i dont know what your finances are)

For the eye, you may want to talk to your vet and see if there is anything they can give you without actually examinging the dog, or you could take a few pictures and bring them to your vet.

Unfortunately, it may be out of your hands, unless the guy will willing give you his pets. Then you can find suitable homes where people will love them and care for them.

You are amazing for doing this! Good luck!

Well if animal control told him to get a dog house then i think you have to call them or the police and have something done for there sake. You are so sweet in helping them as much as you can i did that to a neighbor of mine too when i knew he wasn't feeding his dog right. But i contacted the police and he had to give up the dog eventually. If you wanna see the animals happy and for the sake of there health if they dont' get help they might just die also. So if animal control takes them and they have to be put down its the only humane thing they could do also. If you don't do something they could die in his care too. Or atleast get them to come out and give him some direction into either giving them up to you or them. They sound like they don't belong with a guy like that and he don't really deserve to have animals doing that to them.

Further more it sounds like both of the dogs could be saved with a little medical attention and so if animal control took them i am sure they could fix them up in no time and they could be put into a more loving home.

And have the police check up on the care of the children report that also that's not right. Or child protective services he needs to be put away for such irresponsible neglect.

Animal control really is your best bet. If there really is abuse they will get him out. Your other option is to look into finding no kill rescue groups. They could work in conjunction with animal control in getting the dog out of a bad situation and then find him a new home. That is the great thing about no kill rescue groups they look out for the best intrest of the dog. As for animal control don't have a bad outlook on them if there is no other option for you would you rather never call them and slowly watch the dog starve to death and die slowly and painfully or allow animal control take him and maybe by small chance euthanize him and let him die peacefully.

The only way the animal control would euthanize the animals is if they have very serious injury's that can not possibly be cured or if the dogs are mean and they are not safe for people. That is a big deal especially when he is getting more pets. With his children not having beds call Child Services. The children and pets are in danger and something has to be done before he gets more animals or one of his animals die.The dogs really need checked out and have to see a vet quick. The best way is to call Animal Control

This is very tough. I understand what you are feeling. If it was me and I wouldn't know what to do, I would call a local vet office or the human society and ask for advice. They are use to cases like this and have experience in dealing with cases like that. The bottom line is these animals are suffering. Something should be done. I know the you are looking only for the best for the animals.

You need to call at least one agency on this guy. I love animals too, but I'm a bit more concerned about those poor kids. Sleeping on the floor in a house full of garbage and crap? Call Child Protective Services. Call your Humane Society. Seriously. It's not right. This guy obviously needs help and intervention.

What if the dogs were to disappear and wind up in homes far away? Would be nice. Isn't it sad that breed specific legislation is causing even cities where it isn't enacted yet, to put down dogs just because of what they are mixed with or what breed they are? Fleas can cause anemia, which causes gums to look white.
Wish you knew someone who would take the dogs and give them a good home.
This is such a sad story. I hope somehow they can get out of that hell of an existence without having to die to do it.

Animal control is the answer, come on he is a horrible man, who should never have another animal in his possession. Don't they try to find homes for animals, before they get euthanized?

Child Neglect is against the law too, you need to report that too. The children and animals both need to be taken better care of than what you say is happening here. Please get them all help.

call the aspca, there are laws against the neglect of animals. Not all the time do they go to the pound to get put down, there are a lot of shelters that try their hardest to adopt these animals to good homes. If you really wanted the animals to be in a better home, id call the aspca. Either that or can you adopt them, it seems that you are a caring person to notice animals in distress and try to take care of them. If you could take them, call animal control and then adopt them so they wont be put down.
