If you are major and you feel that you could handle it, go ahead with an open yet very alert mind. At least you will get a chance to know whether he is 'best' or not.
Caution: Do not get carried away by emotions and have control of the situation as well.

I LITERALLY JUST got home from a bridal shower for a girl who is marrying her best guy friend that she has known since kindergarten.
They only started dating a year ago. Guess her mr right was right alonside her the whole time.
If you are interested in him in that way, then go on the date. Worse case scenario, you will just remain friends.
Good luck! You never know what will happen.

how comfortable are you with him? do you think that you could start a dating relationship with him, and if so do you think it could work out? or maybe you feel that you just make better friends and want to stay that way and not worry about hurting a friendship if it doesn't work out. its a rough situation that is for sure. it all depends on how you feel about him. maybe you've never thought about him in this way before and now you have something to think about and consider. just a side note, i started dating one of my best guy friends and we've been together for 3 years now and couldn't be happier, so things like that do work out. defiatly talk with him though and see what he is thinking about relationship wise and if he is at all worried about anything. have fun with life!!

firstly sit and analyse you were Friends from how many years, how well both understand each other, If you tell him as your best boy Friend , then you must have mutual understanding between each other and over a period of relations you have concluded him as your best friend so i don't think there is any harm in going as you feel you can trust him and if you can think o f being serious in your relation then i see no harm for the same.

I think he's hoping to move the relationship to the next level. If you do not want to, I feel you should use that date to talk about your views and his views. Let him know how you feel about him as a friend.
Don't do those serious dating stuffs like movies and dinners that might misled him into thinking that you like him as a boyfriend too and it might prompt him to advance and embarrass himself later.
However, if you are really keen to move the relationship to the next level, go for it!

well if your iffy it doesn't work out dating him and your scared it might get in the way of your friendship don't do it. sometimes it gets hard because close friends can bloom into something bigger and chances are it does work out because you both know each other so well in many ways.if that is what you are leary on you need to tell him upfront.
hope it works out for you both and all the best.

You may go to the date, as you appear to be familiar enough with him and regard him to be your "best boy friend".

First, make sure that`s a date, and his intentions. Then, if it is, say the typical thing you`re only friends.
