How to study a boring subject without falling asleep after five minutes?

I am known to doze off. It starts by yawning, then tears fall down my cheeks. Finally my nose starts to water as well...(all in five minutes).

Try drinking a coke or soft drink while trying to read it. Also put cold water on the back of your neck and wrists. Are you sure it is the subject and not the book. You might be allergic to the book. They sometimes develop an odor I'm allergic to, check if it happens with other books. Try reading it earlier in the day and perhaps before eating not after eating.

Write on a small index card the phrase "Do you want fries with that?" and when you start to get bored, read it aloud.
