They didn't enter the iranian waters. the british soliders were investigating a incident on a boat out there and the iranians claimed they violated the waters and were immediately arrested. It's just all politics. The president of iran was supposed to be here in the US for the UN talks but couldn't because his passport wasn't approved yet. It's a coincidence considering it was a day before the iranian president was to be here that the british soldiers were captured.

Possibility one: they did not enter Iranian waters and the Iranians are pretty much a pack of pirates.
Possibility two: they were in Iranian water and were trying to prevent arms smuggling by Iran into Iraq to kill our and British soldiers so the British were justified.
I think Britain should apologize to get their people back, then the next time should blast the Iranians if they get within a 1/2 mile of them.

At best it was a mistake unless they were there to test Iran's reaction and/or to bait them.
Most people here say "no way", "they weren't there" and so on. Do you mean to say that the British wouldn't ever make mistakes and/or do something like this on purpose? Maybe this same exact thing didn't happen before in 2004? (UK apologized and the soldiers were released promptly)
Didn't USS Vincennes also do this in 1988? During a panic after seeing something on their radar USS Vicennes shot down IranAir Flight 655 killing all 290 people aboard and then blatantly lied about their position and falsified radar charts to show they were outside of Iranian waters.
The truth came out during the next U.S. presidential elections revealing USS Vincennes's true position during the attack which was 7 miles inside Iranian waters. (This is why I love election time, for all the dirt from all sides comes out)
Anyways always read the whole news and from different sources and try to read in between the lines too.

Regardless of whether or not the 15 British marines and sailors were in Iranian waters, the fact that some of the them have issued statements saying that Britain should leave Iraq shows that they are definitely being coerced. So the assertion that they were in Iranian waters is suspect. In my opinion, there is a 99.9% chance that the Iranians are lying.

True, the border is disputed, but Iran only arrested them to screw with the coalition. They will embarrass Britain and the U.S. as much as they can. The soldiers probably didn't ever touch Iranian water. It took the Iranian government two guesses to place the British in their waters, so how could they say where their waters are when they don't even know!

No they werent part of the water the Iranians were lying to us so they can kidnap the Marines and Sailors the reason why some of they Marines and sailors are saying that they were wrong because they are now having what the military calls it Stockham Syndrome sorry if I spelt it wrong im only 13 well moving along it is a syndrome that makes the victims starts to feel sorry for the captives and they may even start to colaborate with them.

The Iranians have been watching and learning from the Italians. Kidnap an Italian journalist and their government will bend over backwards and sell their own soul to get them back. To date, I know of three instances where they've willfully and knowingly netotiated with known terrorists. So, the Iranians are getting hammered over their nuclear program, have refused to pay the Russians (who have now left (or fled) the country) and are getting sanctions left and right thrown at them. What to do? What to do? Take hostages and negotiate a favorable settlement. Trouble is, Aberja what's his face didn't study recent history -- Libya VS US in the 1980s. And apparently neither have you. Perhaps you should try doing something useful with your life. Try enlisting in the USMC. Maybe they can make a real man out of you...

This question cannot be answered, because the British marines did not enter Iranian waters either with or without cause.

They wanted to stir up trouble and now that the brits are in danger they want to cry foul to the Iranians. I don't care for Iranians one bit ....so don't get me wrong, but its a legit question, why would they go into waters that they KNEW were under dispute of who they belonged to........and it was no mistake, they have equipment that tells them where they are.
