Yes it causes lots of problems as you are not getting enough nurtrition to sustain your body and give you energy plus you are not getting enough vitamins and nutrients. Your body needs 3 meals a day with a snack between each meal to help keep your blood sugar level. By not eating properly your blood sugar is most likely low and makes you feel sluggish and out of it so to speak. Start taking better care of your health.

Hello Faoi,

A slow metabolism is sometimes a good thing... You have appearantly trained your body to live on a bit fewer calories than most of us need to just survive.

We consume food as fuel for our bodies, for your needs to change there will be several things for you to take into consideration.

If there are no changes in your activity level, and there are no weight changes then your body will maintain itself.

You will no doubt be considered malnourished but the body will live on, and possibly not develope to it's full potential.

You can speed up the Metabolism, by increasing the number of times you eat in a day. It is like adding wood to fire. Limit the wood, and limit the heat output. Increase the activity level and increase the need for fuel for body maintaince.

This improves the possibility of more Normal Body Development, and Fewer Health Problems in the Future.

I hope this helps!
Robert

It is not healthy to not eat, your body needs nutrition. It isn't made to do without it, and this will lead to a serious eating disorder as well. You will have a real slow metabolism with no food to come in the body will slow down, you will have little energy and be tired as well.
Get active and you'll be hungry and hungry for the right things! You'll also feel alot better and have more energy!

Yes, it can. Your body cannot store vitamin C, so you should always drink a glass of freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice on those days you don't eat. Never fast for more than a day at a time, even if drinking juices, and a well balanced meal containing a serve of green vegetable, and one of yellow/orange, beans, peas and meat/fish/eggs, with some yoghurt, cheese, or milk, is vital for proper nutrition, otherwise you are putting yourself at great risk of various afflictions, like osteoporosis, in future. It doesn't all need to be eaten at one sitting. See your doctor, make a list of what you eat, and how often, and bring it along. Exercise for 30 - 60 minutes, daily; if you don't eat enough, you don't have the energy for exercise.

Yes it can. You need to have your thyroid checked for TS levels & antibodies. I had one doc. just do the first test & said it was fine. Then when I requested it from another doc it turned out my antibodies were sky high. They should be from 0-40 but mine were 400. But you have the classic symptoms. Just like a car your body needs so much fuel just to function. Otherwise it draws it's energy from muscles and one of the organs in the muscle group is your heart. It's one of the cheapest and easiest things to fix but millions go undiagnosed. Plus if you do have that problem soy, canola oil, raw cabbage, flouride & a whole bunch of other things can make it worse. Because it can be fixed so easy too many people don't take it seriously. Even now I don't have much of an appetite so I also take a multivitamin just to be safe and when I forget to or run out by accident I can always tell the difference in my energy level. The older you get the worse it gets and it can kill you.

I can think of several problems caused by this. You could experience gastrointestinal problems such as ulceration or heartburn from high acid concentrations and diarrhea from low fiber concentrations. Nutrient deficiencies (vitamins, minerals, etc.) could cause nutritional disorders such as scurvy. You will have lowered energy, because fat does not burn nearly as efficiently as energy from food. If you continually eat very little, your metabolism also goes into energy-conservation mode, which could cause you to gain more weight when you resume normal eating habits. A proper weight-loss diet has lowered calories but no other self-deprivations.

people in coma get more than 1000cal a day.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

NO its not healthy not to eat. you should eat but not alot and most of it should be fruits vegetables and water. however not eating makes you loose weight coz your body wants to burn all your fat and if you dont eat, it burns da fat you ate yesterday and thats how you loose weight. however i think its better if you eat instead of not eating at all!!
