To properly answer this question, you need to provide your age, recent physical activity, last oral intake, and any past history of any injury disease to your abdomen or genitalia. Also state how long the cramps have been occurring, what makes them worse or better, what type of pain it feels like (ache, sharp, etc.), how far they spread from the central region of your pain, any other pain you would associate with the pain in your side, and how bad the pain is (1-10 scale works with 10 being the worse). Also state if you have had any recent sexual activity.

Any answer people provide you with based on that one sentence cannot possibly even approach being medically diagnostic.

The only sure way to find out what could be causing your pain is to have this situation evaluated by your dr. They can help you figure out what could be going on as there are a number of possibilities ranging from ovulation type pain to endometriosis to IBS to kidney problems.

Don't think about its' cause, Medicine Science also hardly know it!
Only Alternate Systems of Medicine know it. It is difficult to answer your question with this much info. I can only advise you to go to an acupuncturist, only he can solve your problem.
For your experiments you can try hot mud bandage twice a day for 1/2 hr. Use soil from no mans' land.

It could be ovulation or tubal pregnancy depending on how low it is or irritable bowel syndrome. If it persists, you really should see a doctor.
