i heard some indians drink cow pee as a religious ritual...must be pretty grouse isnt it?

The word is gross, and though I have never heard it, it may be true, and is gross to me, but so is barbecue sauce.

So religious rituals involve drinking of cow pee. Cow pee has some medicinal values too.
However carrying the medicinal value is not the explanation. I had to perform one of such rituals. I had to gulp a bit of it (1/2 teaspoon or so) and my wife had to do it seven times. It was a ritual in which I had to name my child. Later, my pandit asked me how I felt about drinking that stuff. I said it was disgusting. He responded, and your wife had to do it seven times. Then he explained the meaining of the ritual. She being the mother to the child went through more pains. That's what the ritual depicts. The ritual is designed in a way so that the husband could realize the massive effort his wife has put in and respect and love her for that. And the use cow pee because hindus consider it holy, so that one doesn't feel embarrased.

I'm a Hindu & yes, it is a fact;Hindu mothers drink it after they conceive as a measure to purify their self.There r abusive practices in all religions & this practice is not the essence of true Hinduism.And these days this practice is history.

It is not a fact. But for some rituals, some priests use that for some occasions.

ya some people do it. some even mix it in their food as a prevention against diseases.
