Some of us, often after complex spiritual and intellectual journeys, simply don't believe.

It really is that simple.

It is possible to live a very spiritual and moral life without the Christian God - or any other god.

Honestly, does it make us bad people?

'Fact' and 'god' do not mix in a sentence. They are like oil and water.

You can ask, "I BELIEVE there IS a god - why is it so hard for people to BELIEVE?" but when you say god is fact, you need to back that statement up with proof. And, because there isn't any proof - be it a book, us, other animals, plant life, the planet, the stars, the universe (sorry, those are not "proof" god exists) - you cannot state god is fact.

That is what faith is for... you have FAITH that god is real. Nothing else.

Because the fact is that the fact of God's existence can neither be proved or disproved by rational or empirical means. Also, life is filled with many indicators and experiences that provoke even the holiest of believers to despair and doubt.

It is not a fact and if you are basing the existence of god on a book that is absurd, historically and factually inaccurate, the illogical of that being the basis of your belief is absurd. There is no FACT that god exists and the book you base that existence on is hardly convincing. Talking donkeys, snakes, arks, wine from water, etc is not very convincing either.

Why is it that you pursue the exact same inane type of question as the person who only moments ago asked the obverse of this Q?
Oh, how I long for the day when this forum is populated by questions with thought and insight, where we can be motivated to think deeply, ponder seriously.

Because people is so intimidated of who God really is.

They also don't see that God put us in this world not of it, that's why God wants us to get born again so He can show us step by step on who He is.

when I first got saved, He would show my passages in the bible that really ministered to me, and I was shocked

they also want to go by their senses. But they don't keep in mind that we can't see air, but we can feel it.

It's the same with God.

Not even the simplest bacterium could exist with no origin, nothing responsible for its existence, much less a human being. However, religious folks claim that something infinitely greater even than a human being - a super-intelligent entity capable of designing and creating an entire universe - just exists uncaused, uncreated, nothing responsible for its existence at all. Clearly this is arrant nonsense, and utterly impossible.

Why would I hold a belief without credible evidence?

And no, I don't regard a talking donkey in a 2000 year old book as credible.

i'm not an atheist but nore am i religious. i'm scientific, sorry but i refuse to believe in somthing or someone just because a religious books says he/she/it exists. show me some scientific proof that this all mighty being exists and i will gladly bow at this gods' feet. since there is only blind faith that says "God" exists. I will not accept religious faith.

Because my life makes just as much sense without the existence of a god as it would if there was a god. I've seen and heard of nothing that suggests the existence of a god so it doesn't make much sense to believe in one. Most people are atheist with regards to Thor, Zeus, Aphrodite and countless other gods, I just go one god further.
