Yes---it does get harder to tolerate obstinate ignorance & blind pigheadedness --but we were all in that position once--we just had to sense to keep moving & learning.

I would assume it is much like the patience and forbearance of a knowledgable believable amongst the skeptics.
Unfortunately it seems that the majority of people on these boards, believers and skeptics alike, don't seem to have much knowledge, patience, or forebearance. It seems that most are more interested in beating their beliefs into everyone else. Thing is neither will win converts that way.
I wish there were more people here that were actually interested in philisophocal discussion.

I can understand it and I can appreciate it. But why would you be "amongst the believers"? We're not here to convert you,and I can't imagine you're here to convert us. So what's the point? You've already made up your mind. It's not like you're a Muslim curious as to what Christians think about this or that,or a Jew or Christian wondering about a point of Islamic doctrine. You're not a religious person,so...why are you here?

Yes. I am a athiest and I believe in empirical thinking, and that God is a symbol not literal, and in evolution and not the magic garden and 7 days bs. I do have alot of friends and family who are christian, and being skeptic, it can take aaalot of patience.

I experience it on a daily basis.
Remember the words of Jesus: Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness.
I hold out hope that perhaps our efforts might one day bear fruit in the hearts of at least a few of the readers here.

Sometimes I wish that I would have never bothered to research the origin of the bible and christian teachings.
Ignorance was such sweet bliss.
While it is true that the truth can set you free, I wish someone would have told me that it can also piss you off so much in the process.
love and blessings Don

I am as tolerant of them as I can be, myself, so I believe I can honestly say "yes". While I don't pretend to have any absolute proof of anything either supporting or denying the existence of "God", the evidence for the Christian Bible being a work of fiction created for political reasons is overwhelming. The bible clearly states "an eye for an eye" and simultaneously teaches the principle of "turning the other cheek". Can "God" not make up His mind?
It also teaches that you should KILL YOUR FAMILY if they are non-believers:
"If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you ... Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die." -- Dt.13:6-10

I admire the patience and forbearance of a knowledgeable skeptic. Don't think it isn't appreciated.
