Australia, pretty much anywhere, oh wait a minute unless you vent extremist Muslim views in Sydney (pretty much a death wish in some suburbs), or your one of those gays trying to hide out in Brisbane or your involved in organised crime in Melbourne. So yes maybe Perth, but definately not the Aussie outback, especially if your a Brittish backpacker - draw your own conclusions ! or in anyway knock their way way of life in country towns such as Broken Hill, Walget or for that matter if your white in places such as a little largely Aboriginal town in Mosman - near Cairns, than your definately not safe !
However as a country, far safer than most anywhere, our only perceived threat is from Indonesia the largest Muslim country on Earth, but very, very poor - so no direct threat at all. So yeh Perth !

In an end-of-the-world scenario, Australian outback, probably, or a large, neutral country like Mexico or Brazil, Crime-wise? Scandinavia or Switzerland or New Zealand are best.

I would say Canada, they have disease under control with a great health care system and the Canadian Government usually stays neutral in world affairs so countries and groups are less likely to wage war or attack them.
