How tall you grow is predetermined by your DNA. As long as you eat healthy then you will reach your predetermined height.
My sister was short until she was 16 then grew 3 inches. But I stayed the same from when I was 14. It's different for everyone.

You didn't indicate how tall you are!! Or how tall you mom is !! Or her mom !! So without having any more information than you've provided..... I'm going to just guess and say that at 16, you stand to grow about 1 or 2 more inches by age 19. But unless there are family hereditary growth issues to deal with, then probably not much taller than you are now. My advice would be to check your family history. ... and background. Don't worry tho' .... cuz short people are very cool too! Look at the bright side !!! You'll always have a cute boyfriend to get that cereal off the top shelf ... lol... ha ha...

The reason girl stop long bone growth sooner than boys is the estrogen effect on the epiphysgeal plates on the long bones. Once the epiphysigeal plate start to calcify no more length is possible to be added to the long bones.
Therefore, the only solution is to take androgen to reduce the degeneration of your epiphysigeal plates.
You, unfortunately, are under the mercy of your physicians. Most of them are not physiologists and do not have enough knowledge on the subject. They will play safe and snow you with a no to your request.

The theory about not growing two years after your period starts is not true.
I grew two more inches three years after my period started.
There is SOME hope of growing taller, but not much, so don't look forward to it. Sorry! Get more calcium or protein, that may increase your chances.

A girlfriend of mine does pilates she has for years. She is 5'10'' and the rest of her siblings are pretty average. She swears that doing pilates stretched her spine during her teen years......
Not sure if it will work but hey, it is healthy :)
