Ho do they they work? When are they active? How do they look like? Can you tell if you have been caught speeding? Where are they usually located. I live in Canada.

they measure the distance between two places and then use a formula to measure the speed...

ALL radars work the same way. Speed detectors in the ground are probably NOT radar. If they can detect a particular vehicle passing two points separated by a know distance, the time between reaching each point can be used to compute speed.
