Islam? Islam is the polar OPPOSITE of paganism. I asked for a technical definition, not a list of faiths you don't like or see as heretical.

Here's a whole list of religions. There's even a list of Pagan religions. Also you must realize that Paganism is basically an umbrella term for all of the non Abrahamic faiths.

I guess that could depend on your definition of Paganism. Most people believe that any of those who are not Christian, Jew or Muslim are Pagan. The term Pagan simply means country dweller. Those who followed the "old ways" and superstitions were considered Pagans. Today it is considered a religious ideology that looks toward the past and attempts to incorporate into the modern world. Wicca is one religion that typically falls under the Pagan umbrella, though there are those who are Christian Wiccans. Most say that if you are polytheistic then you are Pagan. But not all Pagans are poytheistic. Hinduism is a belief system that falls under Paganism as does those who follow the path of the Druid (though this is difficult as that path was not written down) or the ancient Celts. I hope this helps some.

Well, paganism actually means anything that isn't Christianity, Judaism or Islam. But in practice, it refers to the earth-worship of the ancient cultures that survives today (Mostly European, but there are other cultures included too).

If you can add the suffix ..ism... to it and it sounds correct then it comes under paganism..Wicca being the exception to the above rule....wiccaism...just doesn't roll off the tounge.
