Yes, any chemicals are. Cats have extremely sensitive noses and nervous systems. Dont spray that stuff around them. (actually its not even good for humans.)

I'd stay away from sprays, gels and plug-ins. Just read the caution statements about eye irritation and keep away from pets and children. That's enough for me.
I prefer to stay with natural products like activated carbon that are fragrance free and eliminate odors rather than cover them up. Best product I found is FRIDGE IT. Activated carbon odor absorber - little purple cube that is just fantastic. You can find it in kitchen gadget sections of stores like walmart and linens and things. Worth trying and not expensive - just a couple of dollars.
