This sounds odd, but take a pic of it and turn it into the local humane society. If an owner is looking, at least they will know to stop looking.
Then, the humane society might dispose of it or you can call your city/town to ask what to do. The police have a way to radio in a call for pickup of dead animals as well.

I ordinarily would say bury it. But if your neighbor saw coons- I assume dead ones- you might want to call Animal Control instead so they can take the body and test it, in case some nasty new bug is showing up among the local critters.

Call either the humane society or the city...The city is the best bet. They will be out within 24 hours even on the weekend. Do not touch it even if it looks like a house cat. Do not put it in the trash...this contaminates things....Do not bury it...most cities have specific laws against it...just call the city...promise it'll be taken care of!

Call your local Humane Society and ask them if they provide a no cost cremation service for deceased stray pets. When handling the pet, I would strongly recommend that you wear gloves as Rabies is always a concern with any animal of unknown origin.

Call your local Animal Control, Humane Society or ASPCA. They can tell you if they'd like to come pick it up for their own examination, records, and/or statistical purposes, or they can tell you how to dispose of it safely.
You never know if the cat could've belonged to somebody and they're looking for it. If they call the ASPCA, then there would be a record of its death and the family would at least know what happened to their cat.

Take a shovel and toss the carcass out into the street. After a couple of days of rotting, someone will call the city and a fat, overpaid slob will show up in a pickup truck and scrape it up for disposal at a local landfill.

Put him in a plastic bag and wrap it tightly and throw him in the trash so it wont smell by the time that the trash pick up comes. You can also bury him. Wear gloves when handling him as you dont know why he died, and dont touch any of your cats until you wash your hands real well.
