I need the right steps to take to have healthy long-term hair, time isnt a issue.

use spray on conditioner if u blow dry..even if u dont.. eat good things - b vitamins grow hair nice.. as you will see vit b or pantothenic acid in some shampoos. its a b vitamin taken internally is best or eat the foods that have it. monthly tiny trims so hair wont split is good.. if you go swimming use an oil conditioner or swimmers shampoo.. rinse well very well with shampoos and don't use to much of it the roots should get the lather as the roots have most oil but not the ends.. you can use olive oil on ends once a week and put on a hot towel over it then a plastic bag over that to do a cheap but healthy treatment.. and hair stops growing with stress outside element or internally

eat right, drink plenty of water (8 glasses a day) and use hair products that work for you weather their from the drugstore or salon. good luck!

Keep it trimmed, don't let your ends split. I'm not sure how often you need to go and get it trimmed, but just ask your hairdresser next time you go.
