Most Christians believe that the death of Christ is sacrificial, and because it is a divine sacrifice, it is perfect and therefore no further sacrifice need be offered. With the sacrifice of Christ, most Christians believe that the Old Testament Laws for sacrifice have been brought to their completion and are now fulfilled.

It is NO LONGER in effect...
Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the LAW WITH ALL ITS COMMANDS AND RULES. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.
Galatians 2:16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
Galatians 2:21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
Romans 3:20 So it can’t be said that anyone will be made right with God by obeying the law. Not at all! The law makes us more aware of our sin. 21 But now God has shown us how to become right with him. The Law and the Prophets give witness to this. It has nothing to do with obeying the law.
Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace... The ONLY verse that talks about falling from grace, and they did it by trying to follow the law!
Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect. The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, looks forward to the time when the law would be set aside. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED." This “UNTIL” clause reinforces the temporary nature of the law. It ONLY makes sense when we understand that it was intended from the beginning to be set aside.
On the cross, Jesus' last recorded saying, "It is finished," is an important milestone. Because of Jesus life, Satan had been defeated. The law was finished and would no longer stand between God and mankind.
The 10 commandments along with the rest of the law ("commands and rules" from Ephesians 2:15) were "set aside" when they were fulfilled or completed at Jesus' resurrection. We are no longer bound by that law.

Christ came to fulfill the Law. He is the sacrifice sufficient to cleanse us from all our sins. We have to have the faith to believe that. See John 3:16 in the New Testament. Because we are all sinners we cannot have fellowship with God until we have our sins dealt with. This is why God sent His Son to die on Calvary, He was the perfect sacrifice sins He had never sinned. So no other sacrifices are needed or required of God today. God wants you to accept the gift of salvation He sent in His Son.

Christians never did make those sacrifices, Jews did. The point of being a christian is knowing that He was the ultimate sacrifice, which put an end to all sacrifices to be forgiven for sin, which is what the Jewish sacrifices were for.

Who says they don't offer sacrifices? What about working for the local food bank, or tending the victims of Katrina, or taking on the huge commitment to be a pastor or priest, etc? At the very least, that sort of thing calls for sacrifices of things like time, and comfort, and such. We went from an agricultural society, to one that is based more on technology, and since we are not generally farmers and hunters anymore, another way is needed to make "sacrifice" to the creator.

The reason people don't offer sacrifices to God as in the old Testiment is because God offered the ultimate sacrifice.... In his SON JESUS CHRIST, No-one can top that. Jesus died for all our sins and "moved the goalposts" so to speak. God only needs you to sacrifice your whole being to him now.. Instead of a sheep or cow, etc Jesus died so that we could be forgiven, the only way to god is through his son Jesus. (John ch3 vs16)

Because He sent his son Jesus and He became the PERFECT sacrifice. ONCE AND FOR ALL!
After the death of Jesus there is no need for any more sacrifices.
The animal sacrifices served as a sin offering to make them holy before God. Now Jesus is our advocate to make our sins as white as snow before God.

Because Jesus Christ came as a living sacrifice for our sin, so there is no need of animal sacrifice! All you have to do is give your heart to Him and you will have eternal life!

Because Jesus came and told us that all the sacrifices in the world are useless if you have no love in your heart. So it wasn't the sacrifice that was the thing God liked best, it was the humble heart asking to be forgiven.

Christ is the New Covenant. With the New Covenant, the rules were changed slightly. Now God is no longer content with dead sacrifices he wants us to be living sacrifices.
