Whenever I go into a store, I take a look at the computer (don't ask why) and I notice It's running Windows 95, 98, or ME. Also why does airport security actually trust Windows 95, 98, or ME on their computers, I mean if airport security wants to be as safe as possible they would and should use Macs or adleast a better version of windows please explain.

Heres an answer: ask the people in charge of networking. If anything, they can answer why they choose to use the old versions.

Stores are selling computers, not software - and if you are looking to buy, you should be checking size, resolution, etc. It is not expected you will use them for personal, private information.

As for the airports, I'm sure they have their own state-of-the-art computers. Anything for use by the public will not impact them. Besides, if they operate on old Windows, it is less likely they will be stolen.

A lot of people have an attitude of "Don't fix what ain't broken", and therefore never try to get anything to work better. That and the $$$ it takes to upgrade, especially if it is specific hardware related. I know where I work, I often come across machines that must have older ISA cards in them, so they are still running Win 9x .

Airport security is meant to be as difficult as possible. Windows is just part of that time consuming, and often useless, ecosystem. If airports were smart enough to use Macs, do you think they waste time checking 72-year-old Gertrude's adult diapers for weapons of mass destruction?

WEll, if the system they use works, why upgrade? It costs a lot of money to, even if it would b more efficient. It is that way in a lot of places. the soul reason is to save money.

because they are cheap and don't want to upgrade! lol
(I have noticed this too, but they are running windows XP, its just in the "classic windows" theme, its meant to look old and crappy and outdated, but its really not.
