I don't want to scare you but an abcess can be a life threatening condition. You might think it is a swollen gland, but it could be drainage into your submandibular space which is life threatening, it can close off your airway. Go to the emergency room, they will give you antibiotics, you might get lucky, there might be an oral surgeon on staff. There are many free clinics, if you go to a dentist it is about 100 dollars to get your tooth pulled.

'Im listening' is right about you needing antibiotics but don't try it yourself. Hydrogen peorxide releases nacent oxygen so it is good for other things but may cause fatal swelling under your tongue called Ludwigs angina. New Orleans has a dental school, it is not free but probably offers care real cheap. You can try penicillins for pets from a vet store like the other person suggested, most humans take 250 mg 4 times daily or 500mg twice daily for 5 to 7 days. However, it is risky to take medications yourself because you may be allergic to some of the medicines. A lot of people are allergic to penicillins and if you have a type of reaction called anaphylactic shock, you can die.
I would suggest that you go to the emergency department of any govt funded hospital. Even if they don't have a dental unit, they will be able to prescribe antibiotics for you. It should take care of the situation till you can get the tooth pulled or get root canal done.

The first thing you need to do is see your dentist and at least ask for an antibiotic to begin fighting the infection. After you have that ask what your options are and prices. When a tooth is infected there is more than one option to help. A good suggestion once you have an antibiotic is look into the closest dental school. They have cheap and sometimes free services.

Can you just call a dentist and get some penicillin or amoxicillin or clindamycin?
If not pet shops handle penicillin for fish and possibly amoxicillin or penicillin for dogs( I have heard this won't hurt you IF YOU AREN'T ALLERGIC to penicillins although I recommend calling a dentist and getting a prescription). If you get some from a pet shop and don't know the dosage email me.
I haven't looked to see if you allow emails but will email a site for natural antiobiotics to you (if your settings are set to receive email). They work more slowly and you really need fast action right now.
Ok, do this....Rinse mouth with hydrogen peroxide several times daily followed by warm salt water rinses. Hold the salt water in the mouth for several minutes. You can eat garlic pods which are slightly antibiotic.
Buy limes and add the juice to water and drink several times a day or just eat the lime. Also, eat the white part for the bioflavanoids in it. Take high doses of Vitamin C/w bioflavonoids. If you don't have limes, use lemons. Zinc is good to take, also(take according to label as not to add zinc poisoning to your problems).
AFTER antibiotic treatment eat yogurt and take probiotic supplements. This restores the good (beneficial) bacteria that the antibiotics have killed.
There are mouth rinses you can use also. Two of these are Oxyfresh and Colgate Peroxyl. Keep your mouth and tongue really clean and floss daily if you can stand it at this time.
Take advil or something if pain gets too bad. Don't thin your blood with aspirin in case you need to have the tooth removed.
Hope you get to feeling better really soon!

Oh, you can't take this route! Please, contact an emergency hospital in your area and ask for a referral, tell them your circumstance. OR look in the phone book for a dentist near you and give them a call, tell them your circumstance and ask if they would allow you to pay in pieces or could recommend a dentist that would.
The thing about an abscess is it can poison your entire body and make you REALLY ill. Please, don't let this go on any longer, you need antibiotics as well as the dental care; nothing to fool with.

It's called Divine Intervention. PRAY. Consult God to grant your favor in your finances. Never say I CAN'T. Simply unacceptable. You CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS YOU. Pray for God to sent forth a revelation aligned with His Word in helping you get that tooth taken care of. And stop taking all those pain killers! That's not good for you. Go to the store and get some CLOVE OIL. Put a DROP of CLOVE OIL on a cotton ball and apply it to the gum around the tooth or into the crevices on either side. I pray this relieves your pain. Be Blessed!

You should really see a dentist. Further deny of the tooth can cause more harm. Maybe you should try MetLife:Lower costs: Generally, when you receive care from a participating dentist, your out-of-pocket expenses will typically be lower than those you would incur if you received services from a non-participating PDP dentist.
