Should god let humanity live?

Question

The scenario is that George Bush is about to launch nuclear war ending life on planet earth.

I'm doing a trial for school and I'm on the side of the angels, so we're supposed to come up with a testimony and agrument from people in history (like Gandhi MLK Jr. Dalai Lama Khrushchev etc.) as to why earth should be saved.

Can anyone help me think of general points / reasons? Or even specific ones? Any bit of info would be appreciated!

Well, I'm disgusted with your teacher for endorsing religion.

But lets try to help you!

I would say that life is sacred. If god let that go down, all beings on earth would suffer, bunnies and kitties. And that would be wrong. Also millions of children would suffer - and they haven't done anything wrong. God can't punish the innocent!

Then I would bring up that sure humans have done evil (because your opponents will bring up that some humans are evil) but you can counter that with "clearly ALL humans aren't evil..." And then you can illustrate that with

1. Gandhi leading peaceful protests to get the UK out of India
2. Martin Luther King leading peaceful protests to get rights for black people in the USA
3. Even during the holocaust (which the other side will bring up), there were hundreds of people who risked their lives to SAVE jews.

So, since all humans aren't evil, for god to wipe out any innocent people would mean that he is evil too.

I can think of no reason earth should be saved.

Well, maybe just because we have a unique atmosphere compared to other planets. So if I were a collector, and I collected plantes, I guess I would save earth just because it is unique and from space it's pretty.

This is all predestined......that is, ONLY to a certain degree. You might benefit by reading the book of Revelation; the LAST book of the Holy Bible.
I can guarantee you that no form of nuclear war will be wholly responsible for multitudes of the dead.

You should know that we are living in the "grace period".....a time where those who already believe in Jesus are called to tell others about the Good News of HIS SALVATION! This time is RAPIDLY coming to it's closing....the "church -(BODY of Christ)" we WILL be raptured before the antichrist hits the world stage. Then when the 7 yr. peace treaty with ISRAEL is broken half way thru...all HELL will break loose upon the face of every corner of EVERY nation.

During this time; those who are left behind from the rapture of the church, of some of them......there will be converts even still. For the likes of family members who thought all the JESUS HYPE and our URGENT NEED to tell you all the truth of what is really the ONLY WAY TO GOD; which can only be thru Jesus, many will believe and refuse the Mark or the Beast; for without such~ you will not be able to buy, sell or trade for your necessities. It will be the most turbulent time the world has ever or will ever know again! But that is where the Lord's admonition to "Stand firm until the very end" comes in....you have to know that these who are left behind from the rapture will be HEAVILY persecuted, because they believed not during the many times b4 the rapture that others preached the greatness of GOD's glory and many refused it, because they would rather enjoy the pleasures of the flesh and not seek GOD in spirit and in truth. These believers are known as "Tribulation saints" and so long as they do not RENOUNCE THE NAME OF CHRIST DURING THE WORST CALAMITIES' that man has ever known; to him/her salvation will be granted. DO NOT judge GOD by the actions and attitudes of HIS "followers"~ for many do not seek GOD, but have dead faith as they attend church week after week; never learning- and never FULLY SUBMITTING THEIR LIVES to the WILL OF GOD. You see, this is another reason Jesus uses this parable:

When JC says that MANY call themselves "of Christ/or Christian", but unfortunately, they are NOT. It is "these" representatives who make GOD, JESUS & the HOLY SPIRIT; and all who worship GOD out of a pure heart and intense COMMITTMENT to just simply love HIM as HE loves us; those who seek after truth daily~ learning and PRACTICING what we have learned in Christ.....becoming LIKE HIM; as sure as that IS the VERY DEFINITION OF A CHRISTIAN! = "Christ~LIKE!" = hating THAT which the LORD hates; and loving and striving for those things that HE loves~~~~~~simply put, adopting all of HIS attributes as is possible, and placing our will into complete submission to what HE has for each of us individually. The "spiritual poserd!" make Christianity look bad; real bad. Try to take every action u see and every "scripture" that you hear, and match it up against the INFALLIBLE HOLY WORD OF GOD!
