Self-righteousness is doing something to bring about your own gain, it is much like selfishness. You do things only for yourself. Righteousness is doing something good so others could grow or be happy, and in doing so you will grow also.

i think anyone, including myself, can fall into that self-righeousness, as opposed to "righteousness" very easily. We have to be very careful.

being righteous is a good thing. Being self-righteous (especially in your own mind) isn't necessarily a good thing. ciao

The righteous do not see themselves as righteous, and the self-righteous see themselves as righteous.

i have a JW aunt who wont get me to speak with her anymore cuz she judgmed me and it hurt me.....she isnt God!! she was selfrighteous...
