If you watch'd the news when the first books came out you would have seen that Many of us did. Some choose to view it as a harmless story. Personaly I like the version Ned Flanders read to one of his sons on an episode of the Simpsons.

I was once involved in witchcraft and I know how truly evil it is (there is no such thing as good/white magic - it all comes from the same source - no matter what witches try to trick you into thinking). Which is why I will not read or watch the Harry Potter stories. To refer to these stories as "good vs. evil" is nonsense because only God is good and God said that witchcraft is evil, therefore there is no such thing as good witchcraft. Witches say that the biblical God does not exist. They can say the earth is flat, too, but saying it won't make it so.

Being I have never read or know who Harry Potter is I have no way of knowing. But I would not boycott or burn or trash a book for any reason

Are you people serious????? It is a novel...a work of FICTION...for those of you unaware of the meaning, that implies that it is MADE UP...also known as not real. I am a christian and I absolutly love the books. They are wonderful to read and interesting books. If you had read them they are actually about the struggle of good vs. evil and how power can corrupt people. It doesn't advocate devil worship and the like. Try reading the book, you may actually learn what they are about.

They are just books of fantasy. Where in the Bible does it say that you are not allowed to read books of fantasy and not allowed to have fun.

Harry Potter books are classics and all my nieces and nephews enjoy reading them. Its encouraging to see them taking such an interest in reading. As someone has already said it is about good and evil and good does win everytime.

There are far worse things in life to worry about.
