most likely what you have is a minor muscle tear. What happens is that the muscle twitches or you move the wrong way and it causes tiny tears in the musches in that area and there is no solution except to let it heal on it's own. You can try some kind of neck support so you don't aggravate it, like wrapping a towel around your neck like a brace to limit movement.

I have a plate in my neck so I can really feel your pain. Warm hot towels and try to keep moving muscles as much as possible to try to work in out I suggest l0 min. ice and follow up with 20 min. warm towels and put some icy hot on it. You could even stand in the shower and let the warm water hit you for 20 minutes and that should help. Good luck

A good massage and some heat on your neck should help. Get a neck pillow to help you sleep.

Well, if you have a boyfriend, ask him to give you a massage. It has to be hard though, he has to work out the kink. If you don't have a boyfriend... try an Icy-Hot patch, or Icy-Hot Cream.

You can use moist heat to help control the pain and spasms. Your family Chiropractor can adjust and correct the underlying spinal subluxations that are causing the problem.

Best wishes and good luck.
