First of all, remember that you are asking someone to share (and in their mind that almost always means defend) their faith. Sometimes, people have come to believe in a religious practice that is different than what they grew up with. So when they say YOU are wrong, it isn't about you personally, it is just a clue to the fact that they have had different experiences and they feel your particular belief is lacking in some way. Maybe they have tried it and have had sad results. Do not be afraid of that.
I think that if you want to ask about another person's faith, you can do a few things to make them comfortable first. You can read on the internet about the basic beliefs, and then ask them a specific question (like, "I know you are interested in Hinduism, and I read a story about Lachsmi but I didn't understand it. Can you give me your take on it?). Building trust is a slow process and you have to give them time to articulate their knowledge. Keep in mind that knowledge isn't the same as belief. I can tell you knowledge about first century Christianity, but it doesn't mean I have fully come to my own conclusions yet. Religious practice is just that--it is practicing a belief, not yet mastering it.
Second, you can also pray for an open mind, for understanding, and if you have a belief in god that you pray to, you can pray that your god helps you offer understanding to that person.
Thirdly, if the conversation turns to something you absolutely must disagree with, don't start an argument. Say something simple like "I will think about what you have told me, and I thank you for being willing to share your thoughts with me. Right now, I need some time to think & pray about what you have said. Is it okay if I ask you more questions later?" And LEAVE IT AT THAT!
Lastly, a person who is able to have these kinds of conversations is a gift to God, and a gift from God, and a gift to our society. We are so embroiled in wars and religious differences that if you are able to cultivate a skill to talk to anyone from various religious backgrounds, you will be a model for others. You don't have to water down your own beliefs to do this either-- remember, the magic is in seeking first to understand, and then when and if the opportunity arises, seeking to be understood. Timing isn't in our control. do your part and leave the rest to whatever power you place your trust in.

I dont accept as true with any of those. Im a Christian and that i have acquaintances of many diverse faiths. Its incorrect to guage, and its incorrect to assert someone ought to burn in Hell. I recommend certain i am going to confer with them about my faith and that i choose a number of them believed what i do, yet im no longer gonna lose a pal over it. I didnt extremely understand this question, sorry. It looked like you've been attempting to be humorous, yet none of it became.

Everyone want to be on the winning team. It is what children do to each other. Religious people are not more than children that only know what their parent, the bible, tell them.
I am going to have a margarita. The world in getting more and more ignorant. Maybe if I get drunk I can think at the speed of a Christian. Yes I will ask for forgiveness later for all my bad statements. I love you Christians just like I loved my Christian mom and yes I do miss her. She prayed for my lost soul for over 35 years before she died.

Do not listen to those people. There are no right or wrong answers. No one on this earth knows which faith is right and which one is wrong. As long as you believe that Jesus is the son of God and you love everyone, you are on the right track. Read your Bible.

Many people cannot accept that what they believe may not be true and that somebody else may be right.
When it comes down to it... what does anybody really 100% know to be true?
What if every single one of us is wrong and there is not ONE religion out there that has faith in what really happens?
Judgement is wrong on EVERY level.

Perhaps it's because belief based only on faith is very, very likely to be incorrect... For example: one could put his faith in Santa Claus and it wouldn't be a surprise to anyone if that person was laughed at and told his faith was wrong.
And there you have it...

Undead man is ignorant and rude. That's because they have no other reference about someone elses faith, so for lack of reason they say "wrong".

Because we are all self-centered and believe we are the only one that knows what is "real", therefore we know "truth" according to what we learnt as children and never questioned. If we believe God is All-merciful, such a God could not hold it against us the particular circumstances of our upbringing. Only about choices we make contrary to what we believe, not what others believe, or merely say they believe to be in the 'in' group.

Good question, Bella.
It seems too many people are interested in being 'right' rather than in reasoning upon the subject.
Attitude is everything.
