Dude you're young and a pastor. TIMOTHY. haha. Paul has great words to this young guy, I think he was about your age and in charge of a church and Paul was giving him wisdom about what to do and what to watch out for. Read 1st and 2nd Timothy. Please get the wisdom of a pastor on what you should do and what steps you should take, getting counsel from your elders is wise. Pray for God's wisdom every day.
Let me finish by quoting 1 Timothy 4
12Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
15Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Don't get discouraged cuz you're a young guy doing God's work. 1 timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Be sure that what you teach is what you practice in your life. God bless man. I pray God has great plans for you, just remember to do all in His strength, not your own and let His voice guide you, not the ambitious voice of your youth :) Love u bro.

Many people have the same trouble you've had reading the Bible, and it can be difficult to understand if you don't know how to go about it. It's helpful to remember that the Bible actually is like a library—a collection of books (some long, some brief), written under the inspiration of God by many authors over hundreds of years.
But just as you wouldn't walk into a library for the first time and start by reading the very first book on the shelf, so you won't necessarily want to start by reading the first book in the Bible. Instead of starting at the beginning, therefore (like you do with most books), I suggest instead you start with what I call the Bible's "center": the four Gospels. (I often suggest people begin with the Gospel of John.)
The Gospels tell us about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus—and once you understand who He is and what He has done for you, the rest of the Bible will begin to make sense. Make the Bible part of your life every day, because "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105).

Do this when you're thirty. In life, you must live. Go and make mistakes and learn from them. Be preoccupied with Led Zeppelin, girls and some jaded concept of eternal youth. Then repent and become a Minister. You need a theology degree for this. Remember that education and good jobs and volunteer work are the keys. Also, make deals with your connections even if it's self-serving. If it gets you better money--leading to a nicer house, brand-new convertibles and a stellar wife along with gin and tonics by the pool with people massaging you and free this and that, then why not?

The sermon on the mount usually does it.
Matthew 5:1 to ...................................................
In 'Treasury of the Christian Faith' by S. J. Corey, concerning a conversation between the Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi and the former British Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin:
“Lord Irwin put this question to his host:
‘Mahatma, tell me what you consider to be the solution to the problems of your country and mine.’
Taking up a little book from the nearby lampstand, Gandhi opened it to the fifth chapter of Matthew and replied,
‘When your country and mine shall get together on the teachings laid down by Christ in this Sermon on the Mount, we shall have solved the problems not only of our countries but those of the whole world.’
