as stated above, it HURTS! seemingly out of nowhere today. i felt the top of my mouth and its sensitive towards the back of my mouth almost centered. i felt all around and its where i just stated and continues (with the pressure of my finger) in a half circle around towards the front. the right side feels fine. i had 2 ppl look and they say it looks the same as the other side. i could not view accurately myself. even normal pressure of my tongue and or swallowing hurt. i havent done anything or eaten anything out of the norm. i even removed my tongue ring...whats wrong?!!?! i do have a dentist appt coincidentally this coming week, i wanna know now tho!

I had the same problem. No visible sores or discolouration, just weeks of pain and discomfort... it ended up being a sinus blockage. Hopefully your dentist might have an idea. Otherwise I'd see a doctor.

Did you eat something hard that could have scraped the roof of your mouth, like corn chips or potato chips? I have bitten down on them wrong before and poked the roof of my mouth. Also, could you have drank or eaten something that was too hot? Rinse your mouth with regular Peroxide (Brown bottle) and put some orajel on it and that should help. Also try taking Tylenol. Also, not hot as in spicy, but hot as in heat. This can cause sores in the mouth.

Try gargling with some water peroxide or mouth wash. See if that helps any in an hour.

It could be you need a root canal.. or an abcess is forming. If so, the pain only gets worse...believe me! u have to take antibiotics first and then get the root canal if it gets bad.

my guess is... you need a root canal.
