Yes. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit 33 years ago, 3 years after I was saved.
The Bible does not teach this as a requirement to be saved.
Salvation comes through faith in Christ.
The apostles were saved - born again, on resurrection day evening, when Jesus appeared to them and breathed on them saying "receive the Holy Spirit" - the Greek tense indicates He meant "receive it right now, as I am breathing on you. This event is recorded in John's Gospel chapter 20, and also in Luke's Gospel Chapter 24. It was at this time Jesus "opened their minds to understand the Scriptures." Yet He gave them specific instruction to tarry in Jerusalem "until you are clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:49)
This was about 50 days later, on the Feast of Pentecost, as recorded in Acts chapter 2. Therefore there is the initial receiving of the Holy Spirit in salvation, or the new birth; and there is a subsequent baptism to equip believers to be witnesses. Good teaching on this can be found at:

It depends on who you ask... however my personal belief is that if you walk the path of commitment to Christ than you are saved. The Holy Spirit is with you always-- and you may have an experience that you can call being baptized by the Holy Spirit, and it may be a big thing or it may be as subtle as waking up one day and realizing you are loved and blessed. Just realize that everything comes from God even the things that some might call an "abomination"-- but the great thing about God is that he can redeem all things. All crappy situations, all cranky people--- they can all be used for his purposes, whether they like it or not. ;) Grace is so cool.....

Like the word says "have you recieved the Holy Spirit since you believed"? I had been saved and two years later received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the gift of speaking in tongues and it made Jesus more real to me ~a very joyous experience
