ginger snaps. I have an excellent recipe, but I have no molassas, and I can't get to the store without him questioning it. It only calls for a quarter cup, can I use honey instead which I have an abundance of? Please let me know asap and thank you so much!! God bless!!

Yes, you can use the honey. They will still be Delicious and he won't mind the difference.

You can buy small amounts of mollasses at the store. When sugar is refined it goes through a centrifuge to get all the mollasses off the crystals. Brown sugar is actually regular sugar with mollasses added. I'm not positive how, but you could extract the mollasses off brown sugar somehow :)

Alternatively, you could try boiling some sugar. Mix honey, water, and sugar and boil it. It will take a while, but it will start to caramelize. Honey is an inverted sugar and will keep the added sugar from crystallizing and burning. As mentioned already, mollasses will give you a deeper flavor. Good luck.

I would use dark brown sugar and more fresh or ground ginger. You will not be able to duplicate the taste. Maybe you had better write him an "I love you" rain ticket note, and wait until you have all the right ingredients!

You just can't make gingersnaps without molasses. Perhaps you can borrow some from a neighbor...otherwise, you might need to go for snickerdoodles...everybody likes those!

Can you get out to Victoria's Secret without him finding out? They always like new lingerie (for you) for that anniversary!

Congratulations and have a wonderful time

Borrow some from a neighbor, you're not going to get the depth of flavor with the honey...........The molasses is the byproduct of sugar production, and nothing can match it's flavor and texture......Hope this helps you out......
