i've done this for my kids, they loved it...
Dirt and Worm Pudding
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp. butter, softened
2 pkgs. instant vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
12 to 16 ounces of whipped cream
1 large package of chocolate sandwich type cookies
candy worms
aluminum foil
terra cotta pots
In small bowl blend the cream cheese and butter. Set aside. In another bowl mix together pudding and milk. Combine this with the cream cheese and butter. Fold this into the whipped cream.
Crush the cookies until fine.Place the foil liner in bottom of terra cotta pot.Fill the terra cotta pot half way full with the pudding mixture. Add the candy worms and top with the cookie crumbs.Allow some of the “worms” to peek through the "dirt.”

Dirt Pudding:
15 min 5 min prep
6 servings
1 (14 ounce) bag Oreo cookies
2 (3 1/2 ounce) packages French vanilla instant pudding
3 cups milk
1 cup powdered sugar
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/4 cup butter or margarine (1/4 cup)
1 (12 ounce) container Cool Whip
1. Break up cookies, put 1/2 on bottom of preferred dish and save other 1/2 for topping.
2. Mix pudding and milk together, set aside.
3. Mix sugar, cream cheese and butter.
4. Add sugar mixture to pudding; fold in cool whip.
5. Pour onto cookies, top with remaining cokies.
6. I like to let it cool for atleast a half hour if I have time.
7. Let's it all meld together and it tastes better cool.

Here ya go. Simple as dirt....no pun intended! (o.k. yes, intended)
Make your pudding. Put in a paper cup, a terra cotta flower pot that has been lined with clear plastic, or some other container. Cover the top with either finely ground oreo cookies or cookies and then a dusting of Nestle Quick type of cocoa. Have a little gummy worm come out of it, and you are set ! Decorate with rock candies. I have done this filling the terra cotta pots with ice cream (rocky road) and then refreeze until serving time. Have a great party.
