The teflon coating is peeling off my pans. Can we get sick if we accidentally ingest any of it? I noticed it peeling AFTER we ate and I was washing the pan. I heard it can cause cancer too. Is that true?

if you listen to everything you hear they will be saying that everything causes cancer. I did hear they were pulling teflon off the market but still I see it in the stores. If your pan is peeling then use a steel brush or scouring pads along with some comet and take off as much as the flake as you can. It will wear off. Once it's off do NOT spray new teflon on it. There is no need to throw out the pan. I've had teflon pans for years and years and I'm fine.

Teflon is very dangerous but yes I still have a few teflon pans in my house. Throw the pan out and get a new one. You will not get sick from the food you just ate but don't use the pan anymore and get a new one.

very true their are many studies that prove that teflon has many dangers, it is proven to cause cancer every time that you cook on it many micro particles of teflon in mixed in your food.Which wont kill you, but can cause damage to your body later on, also if enough teflon in injested it may cause death.

I don't think tiny flakes will hurt you much, but that is the signal to throw them away.
