Let me warn you the attached link is of photos of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York on 9/11/01. Some of the photos are graphic and children should only view in the company of an adult.
I believe on this day most of us were praying to God....Why does it take a tragedy for this to happen? Watch the Power Point Display and remember those who lost their lives that day. This is proof positive how important our Salvation is. Not one single person left home that day expecting to die, but many did. Those who were saved reside with our heavenly Father today, those who were not saved are in hell for eternity apart from God. Don't be caught off guard. Dont let a loved one be caught off guard. Talk to those who you love and offer them the only gift that matters. Salvation.

I prayed more on that day than I even had in my life. For selfish reasons, I suppose. My best friend worked less than 3 blocks from the towers and I thought he was killed too.

Salvation is just a word used to scare non-Christians into becoming Christians!
HAS IT OCCURRED TO ANYONE that 9/11 had god/Allah on BOTH sides? Mohamed Atta and his fellow terrorists were undoubtedly thinking "God is great" the entire time they flew those planes. As the planes crashed and killed thousands, Christians all over the planet began to pray for the tragedy.
DID ANY GOD INTERVENE TO STOP THE PLANES? Of course not. God does NOT intervene to prevent events like that. PEOPLE make bad decisions that effect the lives of millions, sometimes for the worse.
Don't count on prayer to get you out of a situation you or another person began. You have to work to correct things, or don't do them at all.

No, I didn't pray. I wasn't saved at the time of this disaster.
AMEN! Salvation is the only gift that matters and we need more labours for the harvest! Praise the Lord for believers! We really don't know when we are going to die the King James Bible says that our life is but a vapour. (NOTE OF CAUTION: so-called translations like the NIV, NASB, New King James Bible, and hundreds of others is not the word of God...not when these perversions take away verses, words, and twist scripture that is in the King James Bible)
Why would people not want to have their sins forgiven? Oh, yes, they don't believe..they don't think they are sinners therefore they don't see a need for a saviour. Unfortunately they will be in for a big surprise when they meet Jesus at the Great White Judgement throne, whether they believe he exists or not, to be judged for all they said and did, they will bow their knee to Jesus and confess with their tongue that Jesus is the Lord, then be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity where Satan and the devils will be also. All because they rejected Jesus Christ!
I spread the word of salvation any chance I get, faithfully our Church goes doorknocking (no, I'm not in that cult the Jehova's Witnesses or Mormons. I attend a King James Bible believing Baptist Church) In the warm weather we are on the streets of downtown Toronto passing out tracts to anyone who wants them every Saturday and Sunday morning. Thursday our Pastor and a man whom is a converted Jew goes doorknocking in the Jewish residents to reach the Jewish people. BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD WE NEED TO BE DOING THIS RIGHT NOW AS JESUS COMMANDED US TO DO AND IT MUST BE DONE HIS WAY!!!

For an entire year preceding that tragedy, I prayed not, even though I know that it is prayer alone that keeps the planets upon their course. To the day, a year beforehand, I had a vision of the darkness that flows from village to village, how that river comes to each door, how the evil one is drunk with power and made bold with the short time that he has left.
I don't know why I stopped praying, but after that tragedy, I do not neglect my weekly duty. However, I am but one person, and I am saddened by the worldliness around me. By the division. By the lack of faith. By the derision those who pray must endure. Prayer is important. The world falls apart without it.

That 2nd plane landed in a friend of mine's lap. He was a good man, a loving husband and father. He was intelligent and open-minded and we disagreed on many things, including politics and religion. But we both had a level of respect for each others opinions. I will not dignify your question, nor sully his memory by relating those views. You would imply... oh screw it.
Save your preaching. Go live your life the way he did, with a measure of respect and tolerance for others. It's about actions, not words.
Without that, you're already in hell.
In response to your addendum, you imply that my friend is doomed to burn in the abyss for all eternity because he didn't pray. So why am I p.o.'d? You REALLY CAN'T suss that out? How about because he was a better person than
you are or probably ever will be? How about he lived a good, honest and painfully brief life, a real life in comparison to a judgemental, self-righteous and self-serving,arrogant #@&*% like you.
If "heaven" is full of people like you, what's the allure? Or, conversely, YOU go to hell.

I AM MUSLIM AN I TOO CRIED and PRAYED ON THIS DAY...although what happened didn't exactly register with me at first all i could do was say oh my God what have they done...i still fight against the actions of the terrorists. i come on here of R&S and try to fight what the people say about us today. there is a violent and a non violent side to Islam. and what i try to do is help people see that we are not =.
i admire your appoarch, i like the point you made about praying in the time of trouble. except Muslim pray five times a day, everyday, and we give God praise for good and we give God praise for the bad. i hope you know the difference between a good Muslim and a hypocrite...it's like knowing a Good Christian and a hypocrite of Christianity.

I dont remember if I prayed on September 11th... I was 14 years old and I cried for hours, my sister who was with me at the time... must have thought I was insane or something, but I will always think of that day as the day that ended mine and all of my friends childhoods... and I wasnt even in America, I was in Australia.
Terrorists have not only attacked America and Europe (mainly England and Spain) but twice they have attacked Australia, by bombing Bali, which is a very popular tourist destination for Australians, and there are always lots of Australians there... but I have often wondered if one of our actual Australian landmarks is going to be bombed, because lots of people who I talk to seem to think that the Bali Bombings werent targeted at Australians... but I think I'd have a nervous breakdown if there was another attack by terrorists to our (western) way of life.
September 11 also ended my neice's childhood and she was almost 7 at the time, but she is a very sharp little girl and knows whats going on almost before anyone else does... She'll be 13 this November.
Also I hate to break it to you, but its rumoured that September 11th was supposed to be prophesied in the book of Revelations. That doesnt make what happened right though it just meant that people might have known it was going to happen centuries before it happened...

America prayed 9/11/2001. I even wish I could say that another 60 years will pass before we see that violence again, but I know in my heart it could happen again tomorrow.
Our Protection and Provision is down because our nation is trying to forget their God. Only God gives protection and provision - not man. America is still taking the gospel into all the world, but God is telling us to repent and turn from our wicked ways. Our number one priority should be to tell our loved ones first and all others about the free gift of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is no greater gift than Salvation. PRAY FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR COUNTRY; THE WISDOM OF OUR LEADERS and PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM.
Luke 21:36 And for the Christian the Return of Christ-----
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

To be honest I don't think I did, I was just still wondering if it was real or not. And during the Tsunami, I was more concerned about myself than the countless people that died. We are so selfish sometimes, I pray that I get a heart that weeps when I hear of other people's pains and struggles.

I was thinking more practically about what to do if terrorists decided to attack the city I was in. I wasn't feeling the need to ask for salvation, but rather for guidance and strength.
