Because none of us are perfect, and we all have our weaknesses. You and me - Christian and non Christian. Depending on our upbringing, the values our parents consciously and subconsciously instilled into us etc etc.
I was very disappointed with some Christians when i first became a Christian but now i have learned to just avoid the ones that bother me and just let God deal with them. Pray for these people as they are probably dealing with hurts of the past or insecurities of some sort.

I am a christian and as such i do judge others, not in a condemning and hypocritical way but as a way to protect myself from sin and to know when not to hang around certian people. The bible does say we can judge others but by the same standards we will be judged so things can come back to bite you if you are judge with the wrong heart attitude. As for talking down on others beliefs, this is because some christians are going about thier witnessing the wrong way.

Hey I do not judge you, I may try to lead you to faith in Jesus Christ, because I believe that if you die with out Him you will be eternally separated from God and that will be indescribable. I think the Gospel is sometimes offensive to people because Christians believe that there is only one way to Heaven. And they are correct. However some of my Christian brethren have not always been loving toward unbelievers. I have messed up before as well. We are not perfect. We still sin from time to time. We have a responsibility to tell others about Jesus, we should always speak in love. Please remember we are not perfect, and we just as anyone else can be hypocritical at times. No human is past that. I respect you, I pray that you will be shown the truth.

Because they are people and sometimes dont relize what they are doing. By trying to do good they end up hurting someone. They are acting on their first impulse and relying too much on themselves and not the wisdom the Lord would give them if they took a moment and looked again. EVERYONE is guilty of this in some way or another. At one point or another, we are all hypocrites, we may not relize it right away or at all. This is why we aren't supposed to judge. If you don't judge, you can't fall into that and nobody can point a finger at you.
Anyone who does not agree with what I just said needs to get the log out of their own eye before trying to take the speck out of someone elses. :)

It's the common thing everyone does, when we stop living with our hearts and start treating every day as a task. Usually we run out of energy because we rely on just ourselves (instead of God's power) and we start playing the part of being Christian. Suddenly a vibrant relationship with God becomes a checklist of Do's and Don't and our sin causes us to judge others because by judging others we take the attention off ourselves, that we are actually doing the same sins. This is how the rest of the world is, a game of finger pointing and putting the blame on someone else. We're called to be different as Christians, and when we confront someone on their sins we are to do it out of love, but Jesus said take the log out of your own eye before you take the speck out of your brother's, meaning, make sure you aren't doing the same sin in your own life, and if you are, kick that bad habit and out of love share how you stopped that sin, or are trying to stop with your fellow brother or sister. Everything should be out of love, things done out of love are received easily. That's why Jesus said the 2 most important commandments (basically, if your read the whole Bible, summarize it and choose 2 things that are the most important) Love God and Love others. Don't judge, but also by loving God you hate sin, and if someone has sin in their lives, guess what you have to love them enough to try and get them to change, out of love. This is one of the hardest things to do and no wonder why so many Christians are called hypocrites. We have to rely on God's strength, not our own righteousness and whether or not we thing we are a good person. We are made righteous through Christ, not our own good deeds. :) Peace!

Some people have a harder time trying to overcome the sin of judging--no that doesn't make it right, fair, good, or anything. No one is perfect [not even Christians]. Christians are very aware of that too [or for the most part, should be].

Jesus never taught tolerance of beliefs. He said that He was The Truth. He said that no one goes to The Father except through Him. We are to love everyone but not accept everything that they do. We are to spread The Gospel in order to teach and correct. If that doesn't agree with someone else's belief and they are offended...then what can I say? They don't have to listen.
May God bless you.

Well, true Christians aren't supposed to be like that. In fact, God can't stand it when people are hypocritical. Genuine Christians would encourage you, help you, and share Christianity with you, but won't force you to believe it. They will also pray for you. That's what I try to do, but understand it's not easy....Christians aren't perfect

Because they don't ask God for help in answering questions or talking to people and say the first thing that comes out of their mouth (or keyboard) instead of living by Ephesians 4:29.
