Hi, I had an unlucky week. On march 2, I received a ticket for running a red light (I was driving alone on the road going the speed limit 45, at 11 pm, the police officer was waiting at the intersection perpendicular to me, and triggered the yellow light by driving over the sensor as soon as I got to a certain point at which he knew noone would stop at) There's no doubt that he didn't trap me. I saw nothing but yellow while going through that intersection, but he pulled me over anyway because his little trap always works I guess ( he drove over the sensor at the exact right time).
March 8, I, nervous every time I got a yellow light, became unsure of what to do because the previous officer was basically using an unsafe, unethical method of gaining revenue from random innocent citizens driving by. I came to a yellow light, hesitated, then slammed on my brakes.Didn't make it, and there was a cop. I have a court date for both tickets. For the 1st one on April 19 and the 2nd on April 6.

This is exactly why 16 year olds pay such high insurance premiums.
Do not enter an intersection unless you have a green light. If you have a yellow light, stop as if it were a red light. Even if there were some magical trigger that an officer could use to instantly change the color of the traffic lights, the light is either green or not when you enter an intersection.
If the light turns yellow and you slam on your brakes and still can't stop, you are going way too fast!

First it is obvious you don't know how the stop lights work, most are on timmers, and even then, he can not "trip" the light. Next even if he did, you would have time just like it was any car pulling up, to stop on the yellow light.
If you havve not entered the intersession before it turned yellow you are suppose to stop, the yellow is just to allow you out of the intersession.
So it is just an issue you are not experienced enough it appears, going to fast most likely and not having good reflex to stop. I would say you need more practice perhaps with a adult with you to show you proper driving methods.

I think you should stop running yellow/red lights and quit blaming the police.
However, there is a good chance that you can get one or both tossed. Here in my city if the Justice of the Peace believes the driver and the officer he/she gives the benefit of the doubt to the driver.

Yellow doesn't always mean speed up. Yeah, it might be a little "grama-esque", but have you ever thought about stopping at a yellow light? You're only going to lose a couple of minutes, and you'll have no ticket to show for it. There's no reason to be paranoid about a situation that you have the power to control.

I think your best bet is to make a case for entrapment and the secret sensor that springs a trap on experienced wise drivers such as yourself. AT least in my town you'd have also been cited for curfew.
By the way, did the cop just materialize out of thin air on the March 8th deal or did you not even see him there? Did you have someone else take your drivers test?

Have you ever heard the old saying, hire a teenager, while they still know everything?. Whether you want to belive it, or not, you do not have enough driving experience to drive safely, or you just don't care. You are operating a deadly weapon, and it only takes one mistake to ruin your life, or someone else's forever. One more moving violation, and you'll lose your drivers license. How much is your insurance?, you don't have to tell me, it's sky high. Guess what, it's going to go up. Think about it, next time you get behind the wheel.

Stop doing what you got the tickets for. Red lights mean STOP until they turn green. I have found it the light is amber it is best to stop.
