Are they basically afraid of an intelligent conversation? Are they basically afraid that their "faith based" (I.e., "don't bother me with logic in religion, my mind is made up.) religion might have a hole or two that would make them doubters, and questioners???

I'm not a fundamentalist, but I am a Christian. And if you mean why do I have my email closed, it's because I got tired of hate mail from atheists. I've got a folder full of some really vicious nastygrams, and I just decided that I'm no longer going to allow anyone to attack me privately.

I'm certainly not afraid of questions, discussions, or arguments, or otherwise I wouldn't be here in R&S. But if you want to hold a debate on any aspect of religion, this forum is the place to do it.

That way, everything is out in the open, and if you choose to be hateful, everyone will see it. There's no hiding behind email and pretending like you're something that you're not here in public.

My e-mail is very open and I'm a fundamental baptist. If you want to try to find something to say that would make me doubt God then good luck to you. I can hold an intelligent conversation. Maybe I'll help you see the truth in my beliefs. However, I am a girl so don't expect me to be all that confrontational.
You might want to stop making generalizations because fundamentalists don't all hold the same opinions or beliefs (such as fundamental Protestants vs fundamental Baptists)

Hi Elisabeth. I am a fundie that believes in the literal reading of Genesis 1 - 11. I am among the 46% of the population that does. I would be happy to correspond with you if you would like to discuss our differences of belief.

Write what?

We participate in intelligent conversations when intelligent conversations are initiated.

So! where is the intelligent conversation?

Who is keeping you from writing? Or do you mean not being able to send e-mails to people.
