I was supposed to get a check in February. I was a check last week. I called the IRS. They said that I should either have a check by April 2nd or they will need additional information. Does that mean that I'm getting audited. I would like to know will I be receiving a refund and what are they looking or on my taxes?

I just got off the phone with the IRS concerning this error code. Apparently they have no idea why and could only tell me my return needed further processing time and I should get my refund anytime within the next few weeks, or, that I would get written notification in the mail if there was a problem. Typical goverment answer "uhhhh,we don't know, but will call you if you owe us money". Vote for the Fair Tax to get rid of this problem. Anyhoo, hope this helps, their not dragging you away for tax evasion......yet.

NO, it does NOT mean you are being audited. The IRS won't even start selecting returns for audit for another month or more. The IRS has delayed THOUSANDS of returns for no apparent reason this year. That code is fairly common amount questions on Yahoo. As a practical matter, it doesn't matter what it means because neither you nor the IRS can do anything to speed up your return.
