I'm not sure, because some dreams don't come true.

A dream is a specific desire you personally have, and a prophecy is a general prediction of the future that can be accredited to almost any event and be classified as fulfilled provided you have blind faith.

Dreams are of different types. Dreams dont necessarily come true but they can. According to Islam, the dreams of believer are 1/46th of prophecy.

A prophecy in general, however, always comes true.

Dreams are made in ones head either when asleep or awake. The ones when one is asleep are usually based on things that have happened during the day or problems one has had in the past. Ones physical position during sleep also influence what one thinks is happening during the dream state. Dreams that happen during the waking moments are ideas of what you want to do or have and you act upon them either consciously or unconsciously to make them a reality. A prophecy is forecasting what is going to happen in the future. It tends to be considered divine will that will be manifested in the future.

You dont know until your dream happens. However sometimes prophecies are shorter and generally make more sense and are more straightfoward.

you mean...in the bible..

the dreams..were given e.g .to emperors..God showing smth ..as to Pharaoh...the dreams interpreted by Joseph..or to Nabucodonosor..when..(as I remember..he..not smb else)..in order to be sure he is not cheated by wizards..asked some jews...to tell him..what he himself dreamed of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND they were about to punished with death..in case..they (the one)didn't know..what he !himself dreamed ...about..and that jew..asked God..to reaveal him..what the emperor dreamed..of..because otherwise..he was about to be put to death...

also God..talked to Solomon..in a dream...

while the prophecy...is MOOOOOREE.
the prophecy..means reproducing...and telling to allllllllllll the people...what God ..told the prophet in private..in loud voice...and even showing up..like to Daniel.., Ezekiel.., Isaiah..

also other prophecies..are kind of ...theater..God showing..revealing ..future... the prophecies have been seen with the OPEN eyes...not while sleeping..

Dreams happen, although they have no significance. People can prophesy, but I recall Shakespeare's lines:
- I can call spirits from the vasty deep.
- Aye, so can I, or so can any man, but do they come when you do call for them?
