I bought a new handlebar online and I can't seem to remove my shifters from the old bar to place on the new one. I have Shimano ST-5600's in the 105 group. There is a heavy rubber boot I can't seem to get off until I remove it from the bar and I can't find any screw that allows me to loosen the retaining bracket from the bar. Please, I need help! These things are expensive and I don't want to break them nor do I want to get ripped off at the bike shop to do it... Thanks.

Peel the rubber hood away from the forward outside edge. Look inside and you will see a 5mm Allen screw. Loosen this screw, it will loosen the clamp around the bar. You will then be able to slide it off the end.
Reverse to put shifters back on new bar.

Yep, but make sure you play around with the limit screws. One click too far and your chain will be off the cassette...
