why isn't it ok to put a person to sleep. lets say they are both suffering and there is no cure, but without being put the sleep, they could survive years in unending pain. lets also say that drugs do not help at all. is that still murder?

I think it is ok to put a person to sleep, but only if that is actually what they want of course

I believe you must be mad at your mum and dad, becuase they're those that took the dog to the humane society. Your neighbor couldn't have finished something about your dog barking, the police would have accomplished nothing. I once worked for animal services and as soon as a person turns a animal in, it is the property of the humance society. Regardless if u told them to discover a good home for the dog or not, its their determination whether or not to euthanize the canine or now not. Plenty of occasions humans will are available in and say "he is a quality canine I simply can not keep him any more", but fail to comprehend that dogs get accustomed to their proprietor and don't always make the transition. In most cases dogs are very scared when their owners deliver them in(think a canine that relatively only knows you and you're taking it there and there are any the place from eighty-200 puppies barking) and won't even will let you contact them considering they are so scared. Thus the dog is not going to make a just right adoption dog and is put to sleep, the humane society won't even take that chance of adopting a canine like that. Lastly my recommendation is for you to in all likelihood get yet another canine and when your neighbor complains tell her to return to sleep (in an average means though).

It's all because religion is stupid. Christians have no problem dropping a bomb that murders and maims millions of innocent civilians including children, but they don't have the guts to show mercy to someone who is begging for death to end the agony with the excuse that God will decide when to take life. I guess God dropped the bombs on Japan. And I guess God gave Republicans the right to use capital punishment - executing someone who is already locked up in a cell and can do no harm to anyone!

It's ok for an animal. I had to do this once. It was not a easy thing to do.

As for people: It should be ok as long as it is terminal and that the terminal person understands the options and is still in there right mind.

I have seen the above played out and if I were in there condition give me the hemlock.

Animals are just as important as humans. I believe in euthanasia and i also think it is stupid for someone to think they are better than any other life on this planet. We are all living beings. If we can pull the plug on humans to end suffering than I think a person has the right to end there own suffering with dignity.

I say put them both to sleep. No one deserves to suffer just to live. Euthanasia should be legal. I wouldn't want to suffer enending pain.

eh humans though in extreme situations. since just killing people because they want to end their pain sometimes is not a good idea.

The Bible Teaches us that the same thing happens to all creatures, man and animal. But at death, the aimals spirit returns to the ground from which it came, and the Spirit of man goes up to judgment. If the animal is suffering, put it to sleep.

Agreed... and more than one doc has helped terminal patients make "The Final Exit." And many who are terminal simply save up their meds, and do it themselves. In Oregon, assisted suicide is legal. Maybe the rest of the country will catch up

I agree with euthanasia... we should have the same right to painless end to suffering as our pets.

its a grey issue. If the dog or human cant be fixed it would be best. if someone is euthanizing because they can, then its wrong.
