Check nearby medical schools. A lot of times they conduct clinical trials without patients having to have the targeted condition - Phase I trials for themselves and pharmaceutical companies. Also try looking for Contract Research Organizations (CROs) in your area. They do studies for pharma as well. You might have to spend some time in the hospital or it could be outpatient. I'm not sure what the going rate is for being a "guinea pig" these days, but in college I had friends who supplemented their income every now with a study. The ones where you had to endure a nasogastric tube paid the most.

There is a shortage of subjects right now for pharmacological research. Hitch is, though, subjects must have certain diseases to qualify. But, keep an eye on the U.S. government's clearinghouse website for clinical trials:

Call your local medical association and they can refer you to various doctors who are testing, not experimenting, with new medications. The pay in minimal, not even minimum wage, like $1 each time. And you have to meet medical qualifications like having high cholesterol to test a medication for high cholesterol, etc.
