Hello, all:

I'm at two and a half hours and counting to a full moon ritual, and I have chants/songs for every working this evening (there are seven!), except one -- a spell for sending energy to two circle members who can't be with us tonight. They need two different things: one needs love and guidance through some nastiness that life is throwing at her, and the other is requesting guidance and help to grow stronger on her Pagan path (which she has just started).

The songs/chants for the other workings are:

"Earth my body, water my blood,
Air my breath and fire my spirit"

"We gather as brothers, we gather as sisters,
We gather as witches, we gather as friends
Blessing the way, blessing the way,
For ______'s healing, blessing the way"

"The earth, the air, the fire, the water
Return, return, return, return
The earth, the air, the fire, the water
Return, return, return return
I-a, I-a, I-a, I-a
I-o, I-o, I-o, I-o
I-a, I-a, I-a, I-a
I-o, I-o, I-o, I-o"

Does anyone have any other chants/songs that they could suggest? Thanks to everyone who takes a moment to respond. :-)

To all the Christians who took time to respond... what part of "Pagan/Wiccan" did you fail to understand? *shrug* Your opinions make no difference to me. Sorry you wasted the time typing them out, though.

To everyone else who's taken time to respond sincerely... I thank you. I'm quite capable of coming up with something on my own, but I thought, "hey, it couldn't hurt to try to get some new input". I apologize if it has made some of you feel pressured; that was not my intention.

Do you know "Things shall be well"?

It's an infinitely adaptable chant/song.

For example:
Things shall be well,
things shall be well,
All manner of things shall be well,
Our sister be strong,
Our sister be well,
All manner of things shall be well.

Our bodies be well,
Our spirits be well,
All manner of things shall be well,
Our friend shall be well,
our family be well,
All manner of things shall be well.

You can change this simply chant/song to fit practically anything.

My best to you!

Some of the most powerful spells come from actually creating the spell yourself, which includes the chant. So my suggestion is that you simply write it yourself using the knowledge you know of the person and of his/her situation.

Even without a chant you can still have a powerful spell without speaking, and I personally believe that silent spells are more powerful because they require intense concentration, because there is no chant to help focus your thoughts.

Some of the most powerful witches, and their most powerful spells are done through silence and simple willpower. Remember that just thinking about what you want to happen, if you focus hard enough, will make it happen.

Blessed be.

Ooops....I have a limited imagination myself when it comes to these things. I, too, like Raven's answer.

And to the non-Wiccans who posted nonsense: Some of you are the same ones who whine when non-Christians answer you. AFAIK, nobody is prohibited from posting ANYWHERE on YA. Don't like something you see? Visit another thread.

how is asking people of your own religion for help on an open list, pushing your religion?

and Carl, you realize that Paganism has been around since the dawn of man and has verbal histories that go back over 15000 years. how is that a fad or a fashion? if anything the abrihamic religions with their realitive youth are the fad religions of the day. even Wicca that was founded in the 1950's draws on ancient traditions.

Hmmm chants... What about using Galdr?

This site has some chants corresponding to the runes.

Here's one we've used that I adore:
"Ancient Mother, I hear you calling..
Ancient Mother, I hear your song..
Ancient Mother, I hear your laughter..
Ancient Mother, I taste your tears."

OR
"We all come from the Goddess.. and to Her we shall return like a drop
of rain..
flowing to the ocean..."

I don't really use chants that often, or I'd offer you something.
That ritual sounds just ****so***** long to me.

U could have simply pray:
Gracious Father in Heaven
Have mercy on us
Forgive our sins and iniquities
Cover us with the blood of Jesus Chirst
Protect and shield us
Strengthen and renew us
Remember also ________ at this time
We pray in Jesus most precious name

See U dont have to spend so much time to pray this.
