In my state, dealer plates are not legal on a new car which has been titled. The dealer plates stay with the dealer and you get a temporary tag from the state to use until the permanent plates arrive.

you can take the temp plates off ond put it in your window if your in a 0 tolerant area then don't do it cause cops can hit you with a fine up to 500.00 depending on what state for improprer plate display. so play it safe and remember a DUB tag can cost $20 but a ticket can hit harder so style isn't everything

I would call up your local BMV office to see what the law is. Each state is different in their plate laws. Ohio we don't leave plates w/ the car, but w/ the person.

I'd trust the BMV office advice over Yahoo's. Explain that to the cop when he pulls you over.

The dealer should have issued you temporary tags.
The dealer tags are issued to the dealer therefore they should have come off when you bought the car

My guess would be NO. You need to use plates that are registered to the car.

No. Once your time is up, they can't issue you a new one.
