Yes, and I find it encouraging because it shows you that the command to be like Him is not impossible. We can never be perfect like Jesus but we can have qualities like Him. He's our example after all. It strengthens me when I meet or am around people who are exhibiting Christ-like qualities.

Yes, I have. I have encountered people with Jesus-like qualities, but they aren't Jesus-like people. We should all have qualities like Jesus. He was a very good person, and he never made any mistakes. Aren't we all looking to strive to be perfect? I hope I have those qualities, I try each and every day to be the best I can. I know that if I don't, I will make myself sick, and I don't want to be sick. I want to be happy and enjoy life. I'm going to be an aunt soon, and I am going to be the best aunty in the world! That's what I am looking forward to, that is a blessing from God.

I think I said in my other answer that we are all at different levels of spiritual maturity. I consider myself kind of an adolescent: I've gotten past the baby stuff, I'm eating meat instead of milk, but I'm not grown up yet. I try earnestly, but sometimes other junk gets in my way, and I stumble, ususally over my own pride or foolishness. But I have met a very few that I would say were completely mature in Christ, as much so as one can be while still on Earth, and their presence is humbling and deeply inspiring. Remembering them shows me how far I still have to go, and how great and beautiful it can be, to be with Christ. Two of the people I have known who met this description have passed on, and left this earth, and joined their King. I miss them deeply, but I know we will meet again.

Regarding your need to please/appease your Father in Heaven, until you reckonize, accept, and respect, The Great Mother, you must learn how to be satisfied with only half a god concept.
Life without yin is a violent one filled with much to much yang.
Balance is the key.
PS Jesus still is the word made flesh. Polish your writing skills if you want to be more like him.

I have met several people that "get" the concept of being "Christlike" and live that way.
They are, an inspiration in that, yes, it is possible to be empowered by the scriptures to do what is right in God's eyes, and that each person has within their reach to do likewise.

Like the historical Jesus ? Sure. I know guys who go around preaching. That's mostly what he did. I know people who are hot-heads, like when Jesus kicked over the money changers tables.
I do have to say that I never met anyone who claims to have powers greater than Caesar, though. It cost Jesus his life.

I just trust in Jesus and do my best. I don't think about if I measure up because I don't think perfection is a reachable goal in this life.
